CBS' The Munsters was the answer to ABC's The Addams Family
NBC's I Dream of Jeannie was the answer to ABC's Bewitched
ABC's Growing Pains seemed alot like NBC Family Ties
What sit-coms over the years, seemed to be conceived from the original idea of another sit-com, yet were different enough to succeed on their own?

Designing Women is a lot like The Golden Girls which debuted one year prior.
Blossom, Moesha and Clarissa Explains It all are all very much similar to Gidget starring Sally Field. They all feature teenage girls narrating their stories, sometimes talking directly to the camera. Though Blossom and Moesha typically explored more serious issues than Gidget or Clarissa they have a lot in common.
The Nanny is a lot like Who's the Boss with the roles reversed, they even share a lot of the same writers and producers and Fran Drescher once guest starred on WTB.
A lot of series were aired in the seasons after 1994 that were similar to break-out hit "Friends", some examples include:
Partners on FOX
The Single Guy, Union Square, Caroline In the City and Suddenly Susan on NBC
Two Guys and a Girl on ABC
After the explosion of popularity of Melrose Place and 90210 in the early 90's many night time soaps tried to seek out the same audience so numerous similar series debuted, examples:
---Central Park West on CBS
---Savannah on The WB
---Models Inc on FOX
----Angels Falls on CBS
---2000 Malibu Road on NBC
---Pacific Palisades on FOX
and numerous others....
I know I'm blanking on at least one other that I can't recall off the top of my head...

CBS tried with Charlie & Co. in 1985, starring Flip Wilson, their answer to The Cosby Show, which began a year earlier.
Full House and My 2 Dads, both premiered in 1987.
That's Incredible (ABC) came along with-in a year of Real People.

Murphy Brown and 30 Rock both seem similar to the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Tina Fey has listed both series as an inspiration for her.
