Rolling Stones HBO Documentary
08/01/2012
HBO has announced that it is producing a Rolling Stones documentary.
HBO co-presidents of programming Michael Lombardo and Richard Plepler announced at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour that the network will make the doc about the legendary band in honor of its 50th anniversary.
Brett Morgen of The Kid Stays In The Picture is directing the Rolling Stones documentary, which is being made with the full involvement of current and former band members, including Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
The documentary will follow the Rolling Stones from their early days through their entire career, but this is not the first time HBO has highlighted Stones -- the network aired a Stones concert special 10 years ago.
