"New Girl" Exclusive: Meet Cece’s New Boyfriend!

Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is going to have some serious competition when "New Girl" returns this fall.

"Traffic Light" alum Nelson Franklin has been cast as Cece's new boyfriend, Robby, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.



Robby is described as a genuinely nice guy who is an embarrassingly bad dancer and deaf in one ear. Basically, he's the anti-Schmidt.

Franklin will appear in the Season 2 premiere, which airs on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 8/7c on Fox.



After hooking up (mostly in secret) for half of the season, Schmidt and Cece (Hannah Simone) broke up in the season finale when he decided she could never be happy with a guy like him — despite her growing feelings for him.
