I was under the impression that the Jeffersons would air from 8pm to 2am on Friday night but that is not the case. The Jeffersons will air from 8pm to 12am so that TV One can squeeze in "a hour of Good Times" from 12am to 1am and then they will go back to the Jeffersons at 1am to 2am

It's almost like they are saying...."why did he have to die now because we had planned on airing our money maker..."good times"

So TV One is a Piece of SH*T too

Beggars can't be choosers, at least he's getting something. There have been people who have died in the past and got nothing but their picture flashed on the screen. Be happy with what you get because they didn't have to do anything.

When Don Knotts died he got a two hr marathon. So, Yes at least he got something. Like I said, they didn't have to do anything for him. They could have done him like they did others and just flash his picture on the screen with his birth/death year. Be grateful

OMG now you are comparing Don Knotts to Sherman Hemsley, a person who never had a successful show of his own and made a career out of being a supporting character

Brieanna you get a BIG F today

I'm not comparing anything or anyone. Don Knotts was a legend who did not get half as what Sherman is getting. When Aaron Spelling (Legend) died TVland gave him a 2 hour Marathon. So I don't see why you're complaining.

My issue is Good Times airs every f*cking day so for TV one to squeeze it in during a Sherman hemsley tribute, it's very disrespectful

And I was content with the 8pm to 2am airing of the Jeffersons but Good Times just always has to be seen, ALWAYS. I bet when Jimmie Walker dies TV One will have a marathon every day for a month

So you have your panties in a bunch over 1 hour? I could see if you were mad because they only gave him a 1 hour tribute, but he's getting more than others have gotten in the past. Be happy and grateful for what you get.

It's just a shame that the man can't get a proper tribute without Good Times being involved, a show that airs on TV one every damm day

If you all think this is bad, here in Australia, there has been NO mention of Mr. Hemsley's death in the news! Not even online!

What an insult!

Johnny be good!

From all your responses, It's clear that the Jeffersons is not in your TOP 5 list of great sitcoms

I can't speak for Brie Solomon, but she's just being a realist. It has nothing to do with her liking the Jeffersons in the top 5. Yes, Sherman deserved a whole lot more, especially from a black network like TV One, but what can you do? When Isabelle Sanford died back in 2004, TV land only did a for hour tribute if I'm not mistaken. A little is better than nothing. I don't think Andy Griffith go that big of a tribute like he should have.

For what it's worth, I don't think Don Knotts OR Andy Griffith got the tributes they deserved. TVLand is a shell of its' former self, concentrating on trashy new "comedies" that are filled with sex and jokes that are NOT funny, just to get the younger audience to tune in. It remains to be seen if they give the incomparable Mr. Sherman Hemsley his due. I sorely doubt it. I haven't been watching TVOne, but if this is true, shame on them. No one seems to give a crap about our real stars, leaving us one by one. RIP Mr. Hemsley, your passing truly breaks my heart. I love "Amen." We have lost so many icons this year.

Yes, He should have gotten a 48 hour tribute. I haven't watch tv land in a long time, so I don't know if he did or not. I was just saying when Andy griffith died, it didn't seem like to me there was a huge tribute to him in Hollywood.

I agree with you. I remember years ago when I couldn't get TV Land and every classic show was on there. Now I have it, and there's nothing on and appealing. That's why I haven't watched it in ages

Well TV land gave him a entire day while Sherman only got 4 hours. Plus he is getting another tribute around the Sherman Hemsley tribute so I'm not sure what else you want to see

I'm just speaking the truth, not once did I say anything bad about The Jeffersons. If is or isn't in my top 5 sitcoms doesn't mean anything. Just saying, be happy with what you got because it could have been worse. You could have gotten nothing at all.

TV One is crap for sure. Sherman Hemsley deserved a much better tribute.
They should be ashamed of themselves!

Back when John Ritter died, TV Land did about 4 or 5 hours of tribute for him. Sherman Hemsley deserved the same respect. Both actors were legends.

I absolutely love the Jeffersons and it is one of the best sitcoms ever. It is better than some of the ones some critics claim are great. With that said, instead of watching a marathon on a network that shows edited episodes, I popped in my dvd's and enjoyed watching Sherman that way.

Sherman lives on forever in my dvds. Screw TVOne.

Yes, YaYa, that's exactly what we did when Andy died. Watched every weeknight for a whole week after work of the episodes WE wanted to see from our dvds. Phooey on the networks who think they know what we "should" watch! And I will have to take back a little of my criticism of TVLand. They showed a bunch of "The Jeffersons" today, this a.m. at least. They still, in my opinion, could do soooooooooooooooo much better with the classic stuff they used to focus on. I think their ratings have fallen, because if you notice, nearly the whole daytime lineup is made up of shows they started the network with. Serves them right by trying to cram trash down our throats.
