I thought Sherman was in at least 15 eps of AITF. I'm glad to see they are doing a tribute on TVLand with AITF, but it makes no sense. It's just like TVLand to air three hours of a show he was only a supporting character on while also airing just four hours of a show he was the lead on.

From Imdb.com:

Henry's Farewell (20 October 1973) - George Jefferson
Archie Is Cursed (15 December 1973) - George Jefferson
Lionel's Engagement (9 February 1974) - George Jefferson
Pay the Twenty Dollars (9 March 1974) - George Jefferson
The Bunkers and Inflation: Part 1 (14 September 1974) - George Jefferson
The Bunkers and Inflation: Part 3 (28 September 1974) - George Jefferson
The Bunkers and Inflation: Part 4 (5 October 1974) - George Jefferson
Lionel the Live-In (12 October 1974) - George Jefferson
Where's Archie?: Part 2 (9 November 1974) - George Jefferson
The Longest Kiss (16 November 1974) - George Jefferson
George and Archie Make a Deal (30 November 1974) - George Jefferson
Archie's Contract (7 December 1974) - George Jefferson
The Jeffersons Move on Up (11 January 1975) - George Jefferson
Mike Makes His Move (8 March 1975) - George Jefferson
Mike's New Job (5 March 1978) - George Jefferson

He wasn't a part of the storyline and was only seen briefly in the eps below

Bunkers and Inflation
The Longest Kiss
Mikes Makes his Move
Mike's New Job
Where's archie
Archie is Cursed

So hopefully they don't air any of those episodes

Is that accurate?

OH Nuts!

In any event it will be a nice showing. Considering that Antenna doesn't have The Jeffersons or Amen, this is a decent enough tribute. I'm sure if they had these two shows, the tribute would have been on a grand scale.

I know, Antenna is my favorite channel right now and I;m sure if they had the Jeffersons they would be doing a bigger tribute. Sherman was heavily featured in a lot of AITF episodes so doing a 6 episode marathon which has him as part of the marathon makes a lot of sense

And you know if Antenna had The Jeffersons we would of had a REAL MARATHON. As it was, they picked GREAT eps from AITF.

This is the second time a Jeffersons cast member died when a certain station didn't have the rights. When Isabel Sanford died in 2003 TV land was all we had for classic TV and they didn't have the rights at the time and purchased only 4 episodes for the Isabel Sanford tribute.

Now in 2012 the star of the show dies, TV Land has the rights and only does a 4 hour marathon. Antenna TV didn't have the rights which sucked because it would have been a better marathon

Oh yes, he definitely was. BUT let's not forget about Isabel Sanford, she was great as well. And the chemistry between her and Sherman was amazing. Contrast that to I Love Lucy, where you also had a 20+ year age difference between Vivian Vance and William Frawley, But Vivian and William DESPISED each other.

IMO, one of the key factors assisting The Jefferson's success was the GREAT chemistry between Isabel and Sherman.

Yeah she was ok but he overshadowed her lack of humor with his great acting ability. When I tuned into the Jeffersons I wanted to see him, the 1st Lionel, and Helen.

I always thought Marla and Zara should have had scenes together, they had so much potential to make people howl. We only got teased when Florence announced Mother Jefferson as, She's here. I wanted more lol.

I guess they really had no reason to talk to each other which is why they were only in 2 scenes. The Florence character only got a expanded role because Zara Cully became sick. So that's why they had Florence move in to make up for mother jefferson being out
