I was looking at an episode when the Evans family was trying to buy a house with 5 household incomes that included, Florida, Thelma, Keith, Michael and JJ's income all put together. The Evans family loan was approved according to the loan officer; however they could not buy the house they wanted because it was purchased by contract developers.....
So my question is, after struggling for years in the projects and was approved for a home loan of $25,000 with 3% down, how come the Evans family did not try to look for another house to buy after being approved for a home loan to get up out of the projects. I am sure that was NOT the only house for sale in Chicago. SMH:crazy:

I have never thought about it before. Good Call. I would guess that the Evans got discouraged, and probably couldn't find a house in their price range. House hunting is stressful.
But that would have been a great story line that the writers could have had fun with. They could have taken us outside of the Evans apartment and into different locations.

There should have been a move to another place at the end of season 4

I agree, since the writers knew that it was going to be their last season, they could have made the last episode a two parter. The very last scene could have shown everyone helping Keith, Thelma, Flo, Willona and Penny all moving into their Apartments. Or getting together in each others apartments.
