View Full Version : Name some restaurant chains you wish your city or town had
GARFIELDKOOL 07-23-2012, 10:09 AM These restaurants chain threads are fun. This should be it for me. There's a lot of national chains my city doesnt have. I went out of town and had them.
Golden Corral-On the way here soon. I can't wait. Ate it in Michigan....awesome buffet
The Sizzler-Had it in Florida, like Pondarosa, but better
A&W restaurant-good burgers

Marvo301 07-23-2012, 01:33 PM Arby's
phoebe7165 07-23-2012, 02:08 PM Not so much a restaurant, but a c-store, they just started building WaWas in our area!!! They're mostly in the PA/NY area, and they're building 5 in the Central Fla area. One just opened last week near SeaWorld and there's another opening near Orlando Int'l next week!!
Also, I wish we had Meijer's stores down here. They are mostly in Indiana and Ohio. Set up just like Walmart Supercenter, but they have a whole lot more cooler stuff than WM.
duckie 07-23-2012, 04:20 PM In-N-Out's are awesome I had one out west once I wish my town had them too but at the same time I dont want any more fast food in my area
We do too, but the way I see it, why not have the ones you enjoy?
duckie 07-23-2012, 04:40 PM Popeye's Chicken and Jack In The Box
We went for years without a Jack In The Box in this area, then around 1998, they started building them, it seemed like, on every corner, like McDonalds and Starbucks. Then about five years ago, they closed most of them down, now all you see is boarded up Jack In The Box buildings. We got a Popeyes about six or seven years ago, three miles from my home, I eat there for the first time, about three weeks ago. It was alright, but I prefer KFC.
RoryGilmore 07-23-2012, 04:50 PM We do too, but the way I see it, why not have the ones you enjoy?
Because its loads of extra calories, fats, carbs, and sodium that I dont need along side the road as a temptation

Tweety 07-23-2012, 11:10 PM We live in kind of a small town, but we have most of the national chains... Outback, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Applebee's, Chilli's, all of the national pizza chains...in addition to the "fast food" places like Arby's, Wendy's, McD's, B.King, Subway...
I wish our town had:
1) More steak houses besides Outback... like Ruth's Chris Steak House, wow, is THAT good!
2) I don't know if "Sweet Tomatoes" is a national chain, I'm thinking it might be regional... it has a lot of soups and salad fixings, and some great bread to go with it.. There's one in a town that's about 45 min N of us, which is not bad... it's a great place for lunch or dinner... and it's buffet style
3) I love the "Cheesecake Factory", but it's probably just as well that we don't have one very close to us!

I know. Just about everybody has a Wendy's Arby's and Taco Bell. I was going to ask him if he lived in a small rural town, but I didn't want to offend him.
RoryGilmore 07-24-2012, 12:58 PM I wish we had a Chevy's Fresh Mex or a Romano's Macaroni Grill

 It is a small town. I can get to those restaurants over in Maryland but it's about 20 minutes away. It would be a lot easier if they were here in town. We have quite a few chain restaurants like BK, Hardees, MCDonalds, Applebys, Pizza Hut , Papa johns, Dominos, Subway and we even do have a Golden Coral though, plus a lot of local restaurants.

It's got to be a west coast thing. My nephew is going out to Seattle in October. He said Jack in the Box is one of the first restaurants he's going to hit.

I wish we had Jack in the Box in Fla too, there's a whole lot in TX, too, but that's about as far from Cleveland as out west is!!!
phoebe7165 07-28-2012, 10:39 AM culver's
I LOVE Culver's, whenever I'm up in the IL or WI area, I try to stop by there.
whataburger
They tried Whataburger here in FL, it didn't do as well as it does in TX for some reason, and they closed the 3 that opened in the area.

Hawkee 10-29-2018, 05:21 AM If there was one thing I wish I had in the country would be Wendy's and Del Taco and Dairy Queen but the only restaurants I have are Burger King McDonald's Taco Bell and two Subways and I have to go ten miles away to Wendy's or Sonic or Jack In The Box. I cannot figure out why the small towns do not even think about putting fast food places like Wendy's and Rally's to restaurants like Golden Corral and Red Robin but it seems that Burger King and McDonald's are huge in small towns. But fast food places in the southwestern states such as Whataburger and Taco Cabana should make their California debut because I know Taco Cabana would be a giant hit in California and also Taco Time should make it's California debut too because California is full of people who like Mexican food
Do you agree?
Bestie
tlc38tlc38 10-29-2018, 08:31 AM Olive Garden
Red Robin (they have a really good veggie burger)
Sonic (There's only one in Massachusetts, but none in New Hampshire)
Jack In The Box
Hardee's
Carl's Jr.
White Castle
Golden Corral
Famous Dave's
Penny Lane 10-30-2018, 08:52 PM A new KFC just opened in my town. Been waiting a long time for that!
I wish Pulaski, Tennessee had:
Zaxby's
Buffalo Wild Wings
Cheddar's Casual Cafe
Firehouse Subs
Jersey Mike's Subs
Papa Murphy's Pizza
On The Border
Cracker Barrel
But we don't even have a Wendy's! Strangely enough, we do have a Perkin's Restaurant
and Bakery as well as a Motel 6 and a Hampton Inn And Suites.

icecream 11-01-2018, 04:01 AM Cheesecake Factory is what I want coming to Fort Wayne the most. I also want Sonic to come back and stay for good. They have had two locations at different times here in the past that have done good business. But both of those closed suddenly. Waffle House has never been here. We have two IHOPS, it would make sense for Waffle House to be in similar areas.

BestieI had never heard of Del Taco or Taco Time until I saw this post. It probably is not a real common chain, at least not in my midwest area. Fort Wayne had a Taco Cabana a long time ago but it's been awhile. Burger King is basically useless, there are so many restaurants that are better. I haven't been to Rallys in awhile but they weren't a favorite of mine, you're not missing much there.
I wish KFC was back in my town again.
AMackII 11-01-2018, 09:08 AM I can see Jet’s Pizza being added in the Florissant, MO area & the Hazelwood, MO area anytime in the future since there is already ones here in the STL City area.

We had Jack In The Box and Del Taco in St. Louis. We also had a local Roast Beef
Sandwich chain called Lion's Choice.
