For me it's 45 RPM records, I love going to thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, etc... and going through stacks of records. The bad thing is that probably 90% of what I look at it is stuff that's been played on mainstream or top 40 radio for eons. The only time I will purchase these is if it's a promo copy.

I'd say comic books. I've got...well...a ton of them.

For me, it's CVS and Target. I really wish we had a Wal-Mart nearby, but we don't. I don't understand why either. The business they'd do would be gangbusters.

I don't get to Target very often but I'm with you on CVS. I hit the discount shelves there each week and also at Rite-Aid and Walgreens.

I felt that way when I would find an old junkyard, one that still had some of the older vehicles. If I had my visegrips and screwdrivers with me I would be there all day.

OH Nuts!

For me, it's Trader Joes. When they opened a store near me two July's ago, it felt like Christmas in July. I think I'm there EVERY single day - wonderful products at rock-bottom prices. Fast lines and super-nice staff. IMO they're the gold standard of food stores. LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

I also like Bed, bath and Beyond very much. The one near me has a toiletry and small food products areas. Their prices on the toiletries are LOWER than Target's and the food very often equal in price to my beloved T.J.

Comic books for me -- but last month, I found a box set of 3 Frank DeVol 45s on Capitol at a Salvation Army store. The discs were mint in their original sleeves. Price? Just 24 cents per disc...!

I frequent yard/garage sales, flea markets and thrift shops mainly for VHS/DVD movies and books.

I grew up with VHS so I'm a bit nostalgic for that format. I mean I love HD and Blu-ray, but sometimes I enjoy going "old school" and watching an older movie on VHS.

I especially enjoy finding VHS movies that never got a DVD release or a US release (Region 1). I also enjoy finding some out-of-print DVDs that people sell waaayyy cheaper than what they're worth.

I recently found the 2-Disc Edition of The Stand mini-series which is OOP at a flea market. I got it new for $2.00 whereas if I were to go to Amazon it goes for $45.00

Do you shop at record stores, or go to record shows/fairs?

I have one local record store that I shop at but it' been here over 50 years and the owner is about ready to call it a day. :(

I would love to visit some record stores in your area especially since it's known for northern soul. I do find some of those around here but not very often. Most all of the records I've ever purchased have been bought for $1 or less and I sell some on eBay now and then.

We have two records stores here (I work part time in one of them). On this side of the state we dont see much Northern Soul (in fact we dont see a lot of classic soul). OVer on the other side of the state in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area you see more of that stuff. Only time we see that stuff here is the record show that comes here every other month.

I enjoy books.
I like going in Hallmark. It's hard for me to get out though so it's nice to have things like Amazon.
The Disney Store is cool, except things are so expensive in there.

Book Stores, they just pull me right inside. It doesn't matter if they sell new or used books either.

For me, it's Yankee Candles, there is a few stores nearby and I have to really watch how much I spend. I try to stop at $50-$60, although the bf can't comprehend spending $50 on candles.

Also, salt and pepper shakers. The Hallmark stores have some cool ones but they run about $15 for a set, so have to watch what I spend there, too. Back when I had more money, I would get about 4 sets at one time. I've been collecting these for over 20 years and I haven't counted lately but I'm sure I have over 400 sets.

If You are ever around the Pittsburgh area , there's a record shop called Jerry's Records in Oakland , and is one of the best in the country.

I enjoy Green Houses, Nurseries, and Garden Centers, esp. the larger ones.
I could and have spent hours walking through, looking at all the flowers and plants, looking at the latest varieties. Deciding how to tweak my landscape
every year. I love, love, love it!

For me it's 8 Track tapes, Reel to Reel tapes, and Betamax Tapes. Yes, Beta Max. I still have a Sony Betamax that is so big and weighs a ton. It has the keys on top for play and rec, etc, and still works good. Has a wired remote and pop up tape insert. It was made in 1979. Built like a brick.

I collect anything that has to do with my idol Jacqueline Kennedy. Books, photo's, figurines, etc. She was one cool and elegant First Lady. :)

Of course I have a lot of Beatles stuff and Detroit Tigers stuff. But Anything new that I find about Jackie I grab!:D
