I was watching an episode of Dennis the Menace tonight. It was a story about a tough housekeeper Mr. Wilson hires, and immediately regrets hiring because she turns out to be more or less a drill sergeant, tough as nails, and he's terrified of her, so terrified he's afraid to fire her. She's incredibly bossy, stern, no-nonsense, constantly yelling at Mr. Wilson, and clearly in charge of the household. She's sort of a cross between Maude and Mr. T. As the credits rolled at the end of the episode, I see the name of the actress who played this ogre is none other than Jean Stapleton! I didn't even recognize her! The character she played is the complete antithesis of Edith Bunker. All I can say is, wow!

Probably because of the DARK HAIR and TOUGH PERSONALITY. We were so used to her play sweet Edith with the light color hair

Yes, long dark hair, but also a character that's completely opposite of what I'm used to. I guess you've seen that episode?
