The name may be a little funny, but Fukien Gourmet here in VA is the best Chinese food buffet ever. We've been going there well over ten years now.

Flying Pie Pizza. Voted as the number one pizza place in all of Oregon. Expensive as all get out, but definitely worth it. The biggest problem you will have is if your neighbors see it, or smell it when you bring it home, they will all casually show up just hoping to get a slice or two. I'm not even joking. If you visit Oregon and want something good to eat, Flying Pie is a must!!!

I'm actually about two minutes from the location in the picture below as we speak. I can see it as I sit in the high school bleachers. I'm actually tempted to go there, but will probably just wait until my birthday next month. I just hope the direction of the wind doesn't shift. One whiff, and I may very well change my mind!

The Sunrise Cafe in Lupton Michigan.(Northern Michigan) This is our hang out when we are at our campground in the summer. The"local yokels" all meet there for breakfast and we have made some wonderful friends there over the years. The restaurant is noted for their generous servings of onion rings and delectable Lemon Meringue pie.:liplick:

Growing up there was a place called 17th Street Bar and Grill. It was this little dive in a small town and ribs from there won Memphis in May 3 years in a row. Recently, they have opened 3 so I guess it could be considered a chain now but I'll never see it as one

We have a bbq restaurant here in Hendersonville Tennessee, its called Center Pointe Barbeque. Its been here since the 50's, and it serves the best bbq in North America. Its so well known that lots of country music stars eat there, and their signed photographs line the walls in the restaurant. Wish I could post a picture of it, but I dont know how.

Yeah I saw them on the Travel Channel. Them and Genos. Both made my mouth water. lol

Ironically, here in Rochester, we have this restaurant called Phillys, and they specialize in authenic Philly steaks. And they have a picture of both Pat's and Genos hanging up on their walls. The owners have got to be from Philly.

Geno's is.......AWFUL but I like Pat's.

Haven't been to Pat's since 2007 and I need to get there again. The problem is it's located in a ODD location that's makes it hard for me to get to since I don't drive

I know I would like both, but out the two I like how Genos prepares theirs. They have chunky steak and they don't chop it up as much as Pats.

Who needs national burger chains when you got great local places? A bit pricey, but they send out coupons every week in the newspapers and in the mail.

Geno was the one that had that controversial sign a few years ago

Another legendary pizza joint around these parts is Papa Murphy's. It use to be called Papa Aldo's, but got new ownership about 20 years ago, and the name was changed. They make the pizza right in front of you so it's very fresh, and then you take it home and cook it yourself. Takes only 12 to 15 minutes to cook. So much better then Domino's and Pizza Hut, and much cheaper. The only complaint I have is that they don't do stuffed crust. Add stuffed crust to the menu and it would be perfect!

EL Compadre

I LOVE this restaurant!!:) It is a quaint, old fashioned Mexican restaurant that has been here for years. And nothing has changed. It is staying true to the good old traditional Mexican restaurant!!:) Quaint decor, Mexican music, the food is delicious and authentic, and the Margaritas are fantastic ! ;)

Many of these kind of Mexican restaurants have closed down now:( and there are many modern, trendy Mexican restaurants here now which I hate, even if the food and margaritas are good, it's not the same atmosphere without the traditional cozy decor and Mexican music and such! :(

Pittypat's Porch in downtown Atlanta

The whole restaurant is Gone With the Wind themed, with rocking chairs and stills from the movie. The food is fantastic classic southern. My first night in Atlanta I went there for dinner and beat the manager at Gone With the Wind trivia (we're bffs now)

Norm's - Actually they are a chain, but they are only here in Southern California! It doesn't seem like a chain though. It has a small town diner feel to it!:) The food is really good and reasonable price.;) On the line of Denny's and IHOP but a lot better! They have been here for years (since 1949), and it's nice to see something old fashioned and traditional staying!! :)

There at least three locations in our immediate area(Southern Tennessee/North Alabama) and
Papa Murphy's has a good gluten-free Pizza(I am on a gluten sensitive diet)
