View Full Version : What Fast-Food Restaurant Item Do You Want To See Back On The Menu?
Jack1000 07-19-2012, 10:42 PM Hey All,
What fast-food item do you want to see back on the menu at your favorite fast food place? Here's my list:
McDonald's-Cheddar Melt and McDLT. The McDLT was like a BLT hamburger with the meat patty kept hot and the condiments kept cold. It was a two-sided container sandwich that you "put together" by joining the two buns together.
Arby's-Baked Potatoes (They had them in the 80's-the Taco one was AWESOME!)
Burger King- French Chicken Sandwich. This had Ham, Dijon Mustard, and melted Swiss Cheese! Loved it!

JamesG 07-19-2012, 10:45 PM McDonald's McRib brought back permanently, not just for those limited runs.

BK also had a ham and cheese sandwich that was made on their long buns, that I loved. For now, I just get the Jr. ham and cheese at Arby's.
Some Taco Bells, not all, have the chili cheese burrito, which I always order whenever I see it. I can't eat anything too hard or "chunky" and that is one of those things that it's easy for me to eat.
Pizza Hut also had a thing called a Priazzo, I think that's how it's spelled. It was a stuffed pizza, or something like that. It's been such a long time, and I don't remember exactly about it but man, it was so good!!

Wow! I thought that was one that most wouldn't remember. It was good but it was gone in no time.
Another one I'd like to see again is Hardees roast beef sandwich, it was better than Arby's.
angiefan 07-20-2012, 12:20 PM we have no hardees around me.
7-11 concoction of slurpee and the big gulp
arby's onion petals.

Pizza Hut has their Pizzone
tiredmike59 07-20-2012, 12:53 PM Seems like it's been 30 years since Taco Bell quit making Bell Burgers.
I wish they would bring those back.

No, these were kind of like Sloppy Joes, But they used their taco meat and seasoning and put it on Hamburger buns instead of taco shells.

I guess they didn't "think outside the bun" back then!!!
GARFIELDKOOL 07-20-2012, 04:26 PM McDonald's-Pizza
Taco Bell-Chilito burito
Wendy's-taco Salad bar instead of those ready made salads

That dont sound to bad, i love sloppy joe's, so i may of been a fan of this sandwich. I wish i knew of a restaurant that actually served the original sloppy joe sandwich.
ABlairican Pie 07-20-2012, 05:37 PM Santa Fe gorditas at Taco Bell. I used to love those things!! :eat: :liplick:
Wait, have I mentioned this before?
The Flying Dutchmans 07-20-2012, 06:31 PM Taco Bell "The Bell beefer" I sure miss that thing. It was discontinued back in the early 1980s and I don't know why. It was a favorite among people. And McDonalds Mc DLT I loved that one too. YUMMMMMMMM
mets82 07-20-2012, 07:56 PM Its been mentioned here but I'll mention it again:
McDonalds-McRib. Hell to the yeah!!! That was so awesome and why they dont bring it back, I'll never know.
Subway-Chicken Pizzola. Always an awesome meal. Maybe they'll bring it back. Also when I first ate Subway, they used to have BBQ Rib and you could get that as a 6 inch or footlong. That was really good too.
JamesG 07-20-2012, 09:01 PM I was reading some of McDonald's failures that are no longer around. Some of these I never knew of before:
McLobster:
Comes on a bun similar to the McRib and consists of white lobster meat w/ McLobster sauce and shredded lettuce.
It didn't catch on and it still has limited runs today but they are almost exclusive to the New England states; Maine, New Hampshire...
Hula Burger:
Created by Ray Croc, the founder of McDonald's, for the Catholics who did not eat meat on Fridays.
It was a grilled pineapple slice topped with cheese on a hamburger bun.
It didn't catch on because people simply did not like how it tasted and preferred the fish sandwich instead.
Pizza / McPizza:
At one point McDonald's did in fact serve pizza. McDonald's pizza was introduced in the late 1980s to offer customers more "dinner-fare".
The pizza took longer to make and the customers simply were not willing to wait for it. McDonald's couldn't compete with the other fast-food pizza chains like Pizza Hut and Domino's.
Around the same time a McPizza came along, which was similar to a Pizza Hot Pocket, that also failed to catch on.
McDonald's TV-like Dinners:
McDonald's served mini-dinners when they tried to offer more of a variety. They would consist of some sort of pasta with mashed potatoes and vegetables.
Arch Deluxe:
The biggest flop of the McDonald's franchise. The Arch Deluxe came around in 1996 and was meant for McDonald's "adult customers".
The burger was a quarter-pounder with peppered bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions, ketchup and a secret sauce.
The Arch Deluxe failed to catch on and McDonald's promoted it with a $100 million dollar marketing campaign.
Brad Russ 07-20-2012, 09:29 PM Burger King's jalapeno and mozzarrella sticks. So delicious. Also Burger King's oreo shakes. So much better then Jack & The Boxes because BK's had big oreo chunks instead of ground up ones.

I saw all of this stuff on a documentary I saw on Netflix once. It was very interesting even though I don't eat at McDonald's
