i think its a shame - they have such good writing and imaginative ways of telling their stories; they've come up with so many different ideas that make the show different, its just that nobody watches it.

30 Rock and Arrested Development had similarly low ratings (I don't like to say "nobody watches/watched" any of these shows because they all have such huge followings that just aren't reflected in the Nielson ratings) and still got Emmy love. I don't really get why the Emmys have chosen to ignore Community...but they did score a nomination for Best Writing for "Remedial Chaos Theory" this year, which is something, at least.
