I'm going to check out The Good Wife. I understand there are three seasons. Out of the seasons I wonder which season everyone likes best?

I have only seen part of one episode that had to do with a case involving religion on a college campus. I didn't really understand that episode.
I know Michael J. Fox has been in some episodes and he's a good actor.

I'm guessing it's best to start with Season 1?

Yea I'd start with season 1. The show has some elements in it that aren't self contained so if you just join a random episode you could get lost. Michael J. Fox is in quite a few episodes. He plays a lawyer that often goes up against Alicia. He's pretty good in the role. Even though you're not supposed to, it's hard not to root for the guy. lol
