Should we be worried about Dixon?

Lori Loughlin is set to return for the season premiere of "90210", TVGuide.com has confirmed. TVLine.com first reported the news.



Loughlin will reprise her role as Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and Annie's (Shenae Grimes) mother Debbie Wilson, who left the series in 2011 when "90210" decided to solely focus on the teens.

Rob Estes, who played Debbie's ex-husband Harry before departing in 2010, is not scheduled to return for the premiere.



Loughlin's return sparks debate as to whether Dixon, who was in a car crash last season, will be alive or dead when the show returns Monday, Oct. 8 at 8/7c on The CW.

I'm glad to see Lori returning to the show for the season premiere. This show has a bad habbit of writing characters out and never speaking of them again, as if they never existed. It's great that they didn't do that with Debbie Wilson, one of the main characters at the start of the series.

I hope Dixon isn't killed off. He was missing from the last few episodes of season 4, only to come back for the finale and be involved in a car accident at the end of the episode. He didn't have a real farwell, and his possible death just seems like lazy writing. If they don't know what to do with the character, send him off doing music somewhere. There's no need to kill him.
