Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was arrested on a family violence charge in Texas earlier today.

The details surrounding the arrest are unclear ... but according to local law enforcement, the charge is a Class A misdemeanor ... and Bryant was released after posting bail.

Law enforcement says Bryant's bail was less than $2,000.

When contacted by a local media outlet, Bryant confirmed there was an incident ... but wouldn't get into specifics. He did say, "I'm good."

This isn't Bryant's first brush with the law ... earlier this year, he was detained by Miami police after he was allegedly involved in an altercation outside LIV nightclub ... but he was not arrested and no police report was filed.

I don't understand people like him. I can put T.O. in the same category. They have all the talent in the world...they're making millions and are playing the best game in America and they're stupid. T.O.'s already thrown it all away. There's reports out that he's begging Jerry to let him come back to Dallas. :ohno: Dez is going to end up the same way if he isn't careful.

And he's absolutely right. The Cowboys would do better to get more players like Witten.

Not sure if you have seen this, Michael Irvin was on the NFL network talking about this.
He said that although he had his problems he never hit a woman, let alone his own mother.
He said this is unchartered territory. Michael was more concerned about Bryant getting help than what affect this has on the team.

I'm waiting to hear more. It's been very slow with news coming out from this. Dez's mother is a crack addict who is known to have lied to police in the past. She had Dez when she was 14 and he just about raised himself. Not making excuses for him. If it comes out that he actually smacked her in the face then something should be done. So far the only witness, his brother came out on twitter yesterday saying he didn't hit their mother. I want to wait until I hear all the facts first.

I know one thing Cowboy fans are crazy, especially on the Zone. You have two extremes, one side wants to cut him without knowing all the facts and the other wants to defend him no matter what he does. That side will even attack former players and coaches who are critical of the Cowboys. Michael Irvin & Darren Woodson have been getting it pretty good today.
