Can someone tell me a little bit about this spin-off?
What year was it released? Who starred in it? How many

To the best of my knowledge, they ran the pilot episode and it did good, but the show was never picked up.

That is correct. It was an unsold pilot which were never picked up and only aired once on NBC. It was about 21 minutes long (shorter than Family Ties episodes).

It starred Scott Valentine as Nick and a couple of other actors/actresses - Sorry I don't have their names right here, and IMDB (www.imdb.com) doesn't seem to have any information on the show. The old Family Ties Tribute site had some information about The Art of Being Nick, but that site doesn't exist anymore...

I do have the one episode on video and I'd be happy to look up more information (such as the names of the actors/actresses), but it will take a little while. I have plans on writing a little about the show for my web site as well, but that has not happened yet...
