Who would've thought I'd still be posting here, 10 years later?!!

Ten years ago, I was 16, about to turn 17 and start my senior year in HS. (my 10 year reunion is next summer, eek!)

Soooo much has happened in these 10 years. I'm getting ready to head down to Colorado and turning 27 while I'm there. It weirdos me out how close I am to turning 30 now.
But I have to say - life has been realllllly good to me since I started my current job back in 2009. 2011 was an amazing year and 2012 thus far has rocked as well.

Here's to 10 more! :cheers:

It speaks volumes about this board, though... I have been a member of a ton of boards and they usually last no longer than 5 years. There is another message board that I have been a member of for 12 years now - but I haven't posted there in a long time. I post here far more, lol. (and that's not a whole ton anymore!)

Congrats, Allison! Tues is my 12th anniversary here, so I'll definitely be making a thread here for that. It's amazing how long some of us have been here, and I think it just shows the kind of community this place is.

At least you're a year younger than me. ;) And yet, I only have my 6th anniversary as a Sitcoms Online member coming up in October.

I wish I could say 2011 and 2012 had been good years for me too, but nope... Many terrible things have happened the last two years. But I'm trying to complete a novel, that I've been working on since I was sixteen years old, and hopefully, I will finally become an aunt in October. So maybe it's not all bad after all...

Not quite. :lol: But very close! I joined when FB had JUST turned 2 years old (February 2006). It was still only open to HS/college students and faculty with .edu addresses. End of '06 is when it opened up to everyone. So, yeah, I have seen FB through everything except the first 2 years! :lol:

That's right, you joined almost exactly two years before I did... I love how that worked out! :D It's really weird to think that the boards have been around for a dozen years already... If the boards were a person, it'd be nearly a teenager now (the website itself ALREADY is a teen!). :eek: I do agree with you though! People come and go, but they know they can always come back to this place... There's always something here for everyone!

The beginning was great too. The most popular board at the time was "The Facts Of Life" with "Happy Days coming in a strong second. In 2001, NAN had "Revenge of the 80's week. Many of us participated in a live chate while NAN aired 80's programming. I participated although I was at work all week. I live chatted and worked at the same time. We were a tight, family unit back in the day. It was jumpin', man.

I'd go home everynight and watch all the show I recorded from that night.

It seems amazing to me that just a few months back I celebrated ten years here at SO as well. I still remember writing my first post on the Family Ties board like it was just yesterday. Time sure does fly by when you are having fun!! Congratulations my friend on 10 awesome years!!!!!!!! :cool:

We sure did. Late 2000 and early 2001 were great periods for the board. I was going throught some challenges in almost every aspect of my life and this board was a way of escape for me.
