View Full Version : Season 7 is the most fun to watch because that season has No...............
TVFactFan 07-14-2012, 01:37 AM Serious eps.
There is not one bad episode during this entire season and if I had to pick a top 5, it would be
Diamond Jack........Jack at the skating ring
Jack goes the Distance............Jack in the boxing ring
Opening Night.......Grand Opening of the Bistro
Extra, Extra.......Reporter writes a false story about the trio
Going to Pot.......Cop thinks Jack is dealing Pot
But the other 17 eps are just as good too. This is flat out the best season of Three's Company because of the reasons below
1. Season 8 is the last and there was no finale
2. Season 6 was good but a couple of serious eps
3. Season 5 was the suzanne somers contract issue
4. Season 4 had some good eps but Chrissy Father was seen too much
5. Season 3 was good but ended early due to Ropers spinoff
6. Season 2 was good but some weak eps like.."Baby Sitters"
7. Season 1 was too short due to being a mid season replacement
BTW: Janet is sooooooooo HOT looking in this season with her new hairstyle:)
Buffyboy323 07-14-2012, 11:13 AM How did you feel about the introduction of Jack's Bistro, with less scenes taking place in the apartment?
Mr. Television 07-14-2012, 11:18 AM I wouldn't say it's the best season but it is underrated.

Season 7 was good. I don't think it was the best, but that is just my opinion. I thought that the 3rd season was the best.
Anyways, season eight did have a finale. Jack ended up moving in with a girl in the apartment above the restaurant, Janet got married, and Terri decided to move to Hawaii. They all three moved out of the apartment.

Yeah, it was very rushed, they deserved better, but we take what we can get. All three roommates came full circle. It felt like a series finale to me.

It was a series final but TPTB were more concerned with the spinoff. That's why the episode aired in September, a week before the premiere of TAC instead of May.

They were more concerned with setting up the spinoff, but like I said, you take what you can get, lol. I'm just glad the show didn't end with some random episode.
Season 7 was a good season, but I don't think it was the peak of Three's Company.

What season did you like best sonny?
TVFactFan 07-14-2012, 02:54 PM How did you feel about the introduction of Jack's Bistro, with less scenes taking place in the apartment?
I liked it, all the episodes were fun like the Impossible Dream, Going to Pot, and the ep when Jack was trying to get his wine license.
I was always confused as to why the Bistro seemed to replace the BEAGLE

My friend and I were talking about that one time. It's almost as if the Regal Beagle just kind of disappeared. She brought up a good point though, she said that in a way, even if they didn't mean to b/c they might have just forgotten about the RB, it was showing them mature a little. People grow up and their tastes change and no one likes the same setting for too long. I know our little group of friends used to hang out at this one pizza place/ sports bar a lot and now we haven't even been there in a little over a year.

I think trio was only in the Beagle together ONCE in season 7, in the ep "Extra, Extra
After that jack with in there with Mr. Furley or Larry
jacktripperfan 09-19-2012, 07:57 PM I believe they were all in the Beagle (including Mr. Angelino) in the Season 7 finale "Borrowing Trouble".
TwinBrother 09-19-2012, 09:16 PM I guess I need to get season 7 on DVD.
My favorite is season 5 because I think John had to step it up to make up for the absence of Suzanne Somers and he became funnier in that season.

Honestly, the way it ended, I almost rather it ended on a random episode.
I agree. I do love season 7. It's funny because there's something I prefer about the first three years (the characters were less caricatured), and yet most of my favorite episodes are from season 5 or later.

Yes and it's almost like the Chrissy character kept Jack from being as funny as he could be. :)

I know what you mean, it's like how my friends and I used to play laser-tag at least once a week for quite a while, but then we just stopped doing it.
Regarding Season 7 of Three's Company, I liked it, but it's not as good as Seasons 2-6 in my opinion. Still beats the first and last seasons though.

I stopped judging season 1 since it's so short:lol:

While Season 1 is only a quarter-season, it, like virtually every other first season of a TV show, shows promise, yet isn't as good as most of the seasons that follow it.
PrettyinPink55 11-03-2012, 01:14 AM Most of my favorite episodes come after The Ropers left. It almost became a completely different show.

What is TBTB?
I agree season 7 was the best or one of the best!

TPTB stands for The Powers That Be.
I prefer Furley over the Ropers so I tend to think those seasons are better. I haven't watched my DVDs in a long time so I can't make a decision on which actual season I find to be the best at this point. I do seem to remember liking the last 2 or 3 seasons the most though.

I also agree Furley was better since he was so goofy. I bet most TC fans agree since Don Knotts was a comedy legend.

I do like that episode when Jack meets the Bully in the bar during season 1 lol

Sorry I missed this Sol. lol I think my favorite season was season 2. I like them all though. Although I liked Chrissy and The Ropers, I think replacing them did keep the show fresh. It really didn't seem stale until almost at the end and I still enjoyed those too.

Well we kind of found out why the later seasons felt stale because the lady who played Terri didn't like her job and wanted off the show
So she put no energy into her character:lol:

Jack was also in the beagle with Larry in the Season 8 episode "Jack Takes Off". I believe this was the last time the Reagle Beagle was shown, and the only time in Season 8.
I guess I need to get season 7 on DVD.
My favorite is season 5 because I think John had to step it up to make up for the absence of Suzanne Somers and he became funnier in that season.
You know I think you're right? It's ironic that to me the best episode in the entire series might have been the one where they go the ski lodge. I swear, I don't know how John didn't break his leg in the scene where Janet is trying to show him how to walk with skiis. He really had to hold his leg in an awkward position for a really long time. No Chrissy, no Cindy, or Terri for miles around that episode. Weird then how it may very well be the best if you ask me.

It was really no reason for Furley to be at the ski lodge lol

Can someone check my memory on this? It's been 30 years, but I seem to remember the 1983-84 season ended in May with Jack meeting Vicky. At the end of that episode was a "to be continued" cliffhanger teaser telling viewers to be back in September "when Three's Company becomes Three's a Crowd." I'm sure my memory is correct on that part. What I'm looking for is a sanity check on what happened in September, which I think was an hour-long episode that opened as final episode of Three's Company and closed as the first episode of Three's a Crowd. I seem to recall that the opening credits for this episode was the Three's Company opening, but the closing credits were the Three's a Crowd closing. So essentially, Three's Company morphed into Three's a Crowd: the final episode of Three's Company was the first episode of Three's a Crowd. But in syndication, this episode has been made exclusively a Three's Company episode (divided into two parts) with a "new" Three's Company closing tagged on at the end, replacing the original Three's a Crowd closing credits.

1. In September it was a hour long episode that lead into TAC
2. Closing Credits were not Three's a Crowd, just that the TAC logo was shown at the end of the hour episode
3. In syndication it has 2 parts and there was never a Three's a Crowd closing credits
2.
LittleRickyII 11-09-2014, 05:06 PM 2. Closing Credits were not Three's a Crowd, just that the TAC logo was shown at the end of the hour episode
Thanks. Is there a way to see the original closing credits? Maybe it's posted somewhere on Youtube? I just remember thinking when I saw the episode broadcast all those years ago that I had just watched the last episode of Three's Company and the first episode of Three's a Crowd all rolled into one.

That last episode of Three's Company was actually a PILOT EPISODE for Three's a crowd instead of a Finale
I have the ABC airing of that episode in sept of 84 but not sure if it's on youtube. But like I said the closing credits is the same in syndication as it was on ABC

I guess that advertisement ABC started running in May 1984 to come back in September "when Three's Company becomes Three's a Crowd may be messing with my memory. Because the way ABC made it sound, one show would transform into the next within a single episode. Now that I think about it, I believe I did feel a sense of false advertising when the episode closed and closing credits began to roll and it was still Three's Company.

It is one scene that confuses the hell out of me. During the closing credits of the hour long special you see Jack holding Vicky in his arms. I don't recall seeing that scene on the ABC version that I have or in syndication

Is this "new" closing the one with stills from the episode? If it is, that's the version on the Season 8 DVD.

I know the scene you're talking about, its when Jack is carrying Vicki to the bedroom, it's on the DVD and it was part of the original ABC airing but later that scene was edited when viewed as part of the syndication package.
I can see how viewers might be confused watching the edited version of that episode, I mean last we see the trio closing the door and turning off lights and when we come back from commercial break we're already in the new apartment above Jack's Bistro.
