wow - its amazing, neither of them really look like they have aged at all.

- it would be great to have a SOAP reunion with the surviving cast

Has Jay Johnson done much since Soap? I know I saw him with Bob on an episode of That 70's Show, but that seems to be all.

Johnson always reminded me a LOT of Mark Hamill, of Star Wars fame.

He does look really good for his age, which I think is around 56 or so?

The puppet is not Bob, but Bob Jr. Bob died in 1987 of a massive overdose. The Medical Examiner stated that his system contained cocaine, alcohol, and trace elements of Pledge and floor wax. Upon his death, he was unhirable, being reduced to free shows for bums in the park, and being a sideshow freak at a carnival. Bob dabbled in Scientology but broke the e-meter.

People in Hollywood hated him, especially his fellow non human actors. The most scathing was a Kermit the Frog in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in the 1990's."

"Bob was a bastard. He just was. We all hated him. He once drunkenly told Miss Piggy that he wanted to lick her pork chops. Mean, cruel, ugly and fierce. Jay was a good guy who tried is best to help Bob, but again, Bob was a bastard beyond help. I think now that Bob is in hell, kindling for Satan's Christmas fires."

Since "Soap", Jay Johnson has appeared on "The Love Boat", "Gimme a Break !, "Simon and Simon", "The Facts of Life", "Duet", "Broken Badges", "Broken Badges", "Empty Nest", "Dave's World", "That '70s Show", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", and "Reno 911 !" . He also appeared in the 2001 TV Movie "What's Up, Peter Fuddy ?" . He has also appeared as a celebrity guest on many game shows and hosted two series of his own, "Celebrity Charades" ( 1979 ) and "So You Think You Got Troubles" ( 1983 ) . I saw an episode of "Celebrity Charades", Jay had his "Bob" puppet with him the whole time, and at the end, the announcer said "Tune in for the next episode of 'Celebrity Charades' with your hosts, Jay Johnson and Squeaky" . Jay Johnson appears in the one -- man show "Jay Johnson : The Two and Only", and he received the 2006 Ovation Award for Best Solo Performance . The original "Bob" puppet featured on "Soap" was inducted into the Smithsonian Institutions collections of pop culture icons in May 2007 . Jay Johnson currently uses a replica of Bob for "The Two and Only" and other appearances . We should've known you couldn't keep somebody as talented as Jay Johnson out of the spotlight .
