Sofia Vergara is getting married.

The Modern Family star got an early birthday present yesterday when she got engaged to her longtime businessman boyfriend, Nick Loeb.
Mr. Loeb popped the question last night in Mexico, where Vergara is in the midst of a week-long celebration of her 40th birthday with family and friends, including Family costars Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Wonderwall was the first to report the happy news that Loeb, who is the founder and creator of a food topping called Onion Crunch, put a ring on it while the birthday entourage was sightseeing at the Mayan archeological ruins of Chichen Itza.
Later, Vergara was spotted at the Rosewood Mayakoba resort, where "she was bouncing around and showing everyone the ring," a source tells E! News. You can even see the engagement bling on a pic posted to Twitter by one of her friends.


Vergara has been holding court at the posh Rivera Maya getaway since the weekend. There was a dinner at Casa del Lago on Friday followed by drinks at Agave Azul. Sunday included a boat ride to Cozumel and another dinner at Punta Bonita.

In just a few hours, more than 90 guests will gather for a big party at the resort to toast Vergara, whose actual birthday is today.
This will be Vergara's second marriage. She has a 20-year-old son, Manolo, with her first husband.

Sofia Vergara flashed a new sparkler on Tuesday while vacationing in Mexico, but the “Modern Family” actress is not engaged to boyfriend Nick Loeb.


Sources in Mexico shared exclusive details with “Extra," saying that Nick popped the question, but she did not accept his proposal. He asked her to wear the ring and she didn’t want to embarrass him.

Loeb supposedly asked for her hand in marriage while the pair visited the Mayan archeological ruins of Chichen Itza with an entire birthday entourage. She was in town celebrating her 40th (July 10).

In between sightseeing trips -- the two, along with Sofia’s son, family and friends -- celebrated at Rosewood Mayakoba Spa Resort in the Riviera Maya. Her hotel beachfront birthday party for 90 included famous faces like “Modern Family” co-stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland.

Sofia and Nick split up in May, but were rumored to be back on after they hit the town together in June. The actress famously stood by her man after a car crash in August 2010 and again when he considered running for Florida U.S. Senate.
