A lot of you already know this from my status page on Facebook but wanted to share it here as well.

I have reached a milestone and have not only posted 150 total stories on fanfiction.net but have also posted 100 Frasier stories! Mostly about Niles and Daphne but I have one in particular that is about Roz and Bulldog. I'm planning on doing at least one or two involving Frasier and Charlotte but my first love will always be Niles and Daphne!

Just had to brag because I owe a lot to this board for making it possible for me to write so many stories in the first place.

Kristen and I were already Facebook friends but hadn't conversed much. When I decided to gloat about how many stories I'd posted on fanfiction. net on my FB page, she replied and said she'd written stories too.

I know you all know what happened next so I won't bore you with the details but reading her story led to my watching Frasier which led to us talking more and more and then she introduced me to Leigh Ann (Another great Niles and Daphne writer!) and then I met Andress (who also writes wonderful stories!). And finally Pat, who is an incredible writer as well!

Thanks for your support of my writing. I suppose I am a bit obsessed with writing stories for Niles and Daphne but I love doing it and I feel so good when people give me feedback and so forth.

Actually my husband suggested that once and it was very intriguing. Obviously I couldn't publish them exactly the way they are written because of copyrights and so forth, but I have thought about rewriting a few and trying to do something with them. My problem is that I just don't know how to go about it. That would be an awesome thing to do because the stories are basically already written and it wouldn't be that hard to make them generic. If anyone has any suggestions on how to even go about doing that, I'd very much appreciate it! I mean, I can't imagine there woudl be problems with them thinking that I'm plagiarizing b/c I don't use my real name on the site and as I said before, the story would be changed from the original.

It can be difficult to get published but the best way to start is to do some research on book publishing companies and find out what their process is for submissions. Publishers are also often looking for specific things at specific times so you can also research to find what they are looking to publish at a given time-- such as romance novels, nonfiction, adventure novels, children's books, etc, and then you can either write to what they are looking for or find a publisher who is looking for what you've already written. Then you have some direction of where to submit and it will cut down on those pesky rejection slips. You also cannot submit your work to more than one publisher at a time, and most popular novels were declined a lot of times before they were finally published (John Grisham's A Time to Kill was declined 15 times) so expect to have to work at getting your writing published and take rejection and criticism in stride.

There's also the option to just publish your work yourself (you can pay a publishing company to publish a few copies of your book), but that means you're spending money to have it published instead of making money from it.

First of all, :bighug: for mentioning me! *blushes* I know I've said this before, but it's worth repeating! I am SOOOO glad I saw that post and replied to it! I have also made some amazing friends thanks to this show, both here and on fanficton.net!
