I never knew that?

Why? Did the show sink that far in the ratings?

July 8th, 1990 - The final episode of "Mr. Belvedere" aired on ABC

Oh man, thanks Sonny. I guess it was the kids that got too old that it probably wasn't believable anymore to have a "butler?"

At one time that was one of my favorite shows. I always thought it was underrated. I read an article years ago and someone in the cast ( it might have been Bob Uecker) stated that ABC hated the show and was always trying to kill it but the ratings would never fall. I guess ABC finally got their way.

I wonder why they hated it? Why hate a show that is doing good for you? I think the same thing happened with WKRP in Cincinnati.

I loved Mr.Belvedare.I think wasn't it moved from tgif? that's probably why it lost ratings. It's been so long i don't remember.I'd love to be able to find the dvds.

Yea I agree with that as well. When you move a show all over the schedule, you destroy it . WKRP always had an audience whenever it was left alone. After it was cancelled ratings went way up during the summer and CBS tried to ondo what they did but it was too late. The cast had been released from their contracts and some had already signed on to do other things. Then WKRP went into syndication and became a big syndicated hit during the 80's.

Yea. It always did well when it was on TGIF. It was moved to Saturday nights and paired with the Who's the Boss spin-off Living Dolls.

I've seen the two-part finale, and it was one of the best ever in the history of television. A true tear-jerker. I also love the fact that even though ABC hated the show, at least they had the courtesy to let them do a proper finale.

The thing I loved about the finale was that they don't even treat it like such at first. At first, they just treat it like every other episode. But near the end of part 2, that was when it started to get personal.

Yeah, i was pretty sure that was what happened. It's really too bad.I thought it should of lasted much longer. All i know is i used to always watch it on tgif. Then it just dissapeared with no real explanation and i never saw it again. It just became full house and family matters.Instead of Belvedare and full house.

227 aired opposite it on NBC and Paradise was on CBS.
