that he was on,either as a guest star,or star? For me,I liked him on "The Andy Griffith Show(all Black and white and some, but not many color)""Matlock"(All NBC episodes, but not many ABC episodes),I never saw any of his other series guest starring/starring roles.I DIDN'T like him in the 1985 NBC TV-movie "Crime of Innocence",In which he played that very mean ,corrupt judge namedf Sullivan. This post also includes the TV movies he was in as well.

Also guest-starred on the original Hawaii Five-O.
And of course, he appeared on Make Room for Daddy in his precursor one-ep role as Sheriff.

That's my uncle's favorite movie of all time. He watches it constantly

Hey I'm new here this might be slightly off-topic as it is not a tv show but Griffith had a starring role in the Elia Kazan film A Face in The Crowd as the host of a nation wide television variety show kind of like hee-haw . It's interesting cause it's a much darker Griffith then we're used to seeing. It certainly blew my mind as I knew Andy Griffith only from his own show, then I saw the tv play "No Time For Sergeants" (where he plays an almost Gomer Pyle like character) and then A Face in The Crowd. So I was completely blindsided it really shows that Griffith had range and wasn't just capable of playing the down-home nice guy he got typecast into.

I remember that movie, and it scared the living bee-jeebus outta me the first time I saw it - It was a LOT different than seeing him on TAGS that's for sure!
Andy Griffith played BAD really, really GOOD in both TV movies, "Pray For The Wildcats" and " Murder in Coweta County."
He also played another good guy sheriff role in another TV movie, "Winter Kill."
