Here's the story on the below one:

"When we were backstage at the Valley Forge Music Fair, Freddie kept talking to Carol, his assistant, Ron, his manager, and Kathy about "changing the sign." My friend Denise and I had no idea what he was talking about. Turns out the Sheraton Valley Forge, where he was staying, has a duplex movie theater that was playing "Posse" and "Other Side of the Mountain." When we went back to the hotel after the show, we stopped under the sign, where all of us boosted Freddie up so he could take the "o" out of "Posse" and the "u" out of "Other Side of the Mountain" and switch them, with the obvious result. The rest of the night he went back and forth between saying "They're going to throw us out of the hotel for that" and trying to figure out how he could tell the story on the Tonight Show."

Yes, just what we all needed on such a sad day! Leave it to Freddie to see the humor in absolutely everything, even a movie theater sign! No wonder we all love him and miss him so much!

Yeah, I smiled & laughed & cried too.. What a darling Puertorican boy! :) She was so lucky to have met him. :) I loved the one of him with the hat! & The other one of him clowning around. Yes, it must be hard for anyone who knew him. I hope you don' t mind me using the pics & story for my site whenever it gets done in the yr 2525 (If it gets done that soon LOL!). I'll credit you for them. I want to show the world what a sweet boy he was! :)

I also did up 2 pics from her pics on here. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing your pics & story! It is so neat!

I'd love to know where Wheeeone got that pic of Freddie in that suit & tie from? I've never seen that one before. He looks so mature & adult and... Handsome! :)

Oh yeah the pic looks like it might be from a tv show. What show would that be from? Anyone know???? :)

Cheryl,
The picture I used for my avatar is one of 2 I took of an appearance by Freddie on The Tonight Show in 1975. I placed them both on the Biographical page of my website. I also used the second one for my Message Board.

Hey, I just wanted to add my two cents and thanks to TJ and Melissa. Those pictures are incredible. I have felt pretty disconnected from Freddie lately, and those pictures reached me in a way that no publicity shot ever could. Took him out of media icon status and into human. I haven't been able to reach the human part of him for a long time. So thanks. BTW--Melissa, your smile! It is so infectious! I love it. :) Can I use your pictures on my site, and what credit should I give it, if you say yes? (My site is http://www.freddieprinze.homestead.com)

Those pictures show you FREDDIE not just what the publicity shot wants you to see. It really humanizes him. Freddie, the man, not Freddie/Chico larger than life. Thanks again for sharing them with us. I think they were just what everone needed rite now.

Thank-you to TJ and Melissa for sharing these great photos and experience of meeting Freddie in person. This was so great to see.

I have been having an awful time this weekend! I thought I was going to make it through the anniversary week alright. But it all came down on me yesterday and I have been in tears. I went for a walk last night, looked up to the sky. I saw one star that was sparkling brighter than all the others. I said, "Freddie, I know you are there in heaven, but we all miss you and love you so much." Then I lost it. :crying:

I am so glad you folks are here.

FREDDIE FOREVER!!

I'm a newbie to this site. I've always admired Freddie even since I was the tender age of 2 when the show first hit. YOu know something is special when 28 years later that same 2 year old still loves it! Obviously then, I didn't know what was going on except that my parents and I always watched Chico and the Man every week. Only until we lost him, did we realize how special he and that show was. Freddie's light still shines and will continue thanks to true fans.

I was only 3 when Freddie died, but I clearly remember hearing the news and being very upset, as I'd developed one of my first crushes on him, watching "Chico and The Man". It was a show that EVERYONE watched where I lived and Freddie's death really touched a lot of people. I kinda remember when the kid replaced him because I was angry that he wasn't Freddie. I just expected Prinze to come back and say, "Hey I was only kidding...". 3 years old and having a crush. He was special.
