The Jeffersons premiered after Rhoda in 1975 so why does the Footage of NYC look so OLD? When you see NYC in the opening credits on Rhoda everything is more clear.

Wonder what was used to film the Jeffersons at that time? Seeing NYC on Rhoda versus the Jeffersons looks like a different decade

It's probably because Rhoda was filmed and The Jeffersons was taped making their show look a lot worse.
Also, if the footage in Rhoda you're talking about is from the seasons 4&5 openings, a lot of those places were out in the open and sunny, whereas The Jeffersons footage was shot in downtown New York with all the skyscrapers blocking the sun.

I'm referring to the season 1 credits of Rhoda which was in 74 and then watching the footage of the Jeffersons everything looks so old. Even when I watch the opening credits of Taxi with the cab going over the Queensboro bridge, it looks so clear but when the Jeffersons cab goes over that same bridge 3 years earlier it looks like a decade earlier.

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS:wave:

Maybe it was all old stock footage. I know the footage in All in the Family's opening was from the original pilot, and Maude's opening was from the 50s or 60s.
Rhoda's footage on the other hand was obviously from the 70s unless someone with a camera knew Valerie would have a show in 15-20 years!

Thanks for the welcome!

Yeah maybe that was the case which was why Maude and AITF looked so old.

Rhoda is opening for season 4 was outdated because you only see one World Trade Center Tower and not the other.
