I have been a life long Brady Bunch fan.
I watched the show religiously when it was first aired and have seen all of the episodes numerous times in syndication.

My daughter and I have been watching it together on the Inspiration Network every day and we are enjoying finding all of the bloopers that so many of you have been nice enough to point out for the rest of us.

A small thing that we have noticed is that it seems like Mike is obsessed with scratching his belly.

It seems like every episode has him at least rest his hand on his belly and in most of the episodes he rubs or scratches his belly.

We have even made a game of it - trying to predict how many minutes into the episode it takes for Mike to put his hand on his stomach.

Has anyone else noticed this slightly odd behavior?

Jackie Gleason would often pat his stomach during episodes of The Honeymooners but it was to signal the other actors that he had forgotten his lines and they had to step in and save the scene. I never noticed how often Robert Reed does it.

The only thing I've noticed is how many times the Bradys drink coffee! There is hardly any episode without one of them chugging down some java

Yea, Jude, you got that right!
I guess they wanted to make sure Alice always had something to do.

About the hand on the stomach.....thanks for that info about Jackie Gleason, Zoneboy. I never knew that.
With Robert Reed it just seems like a habit that he probably wasn't even aware of.

But now that you mention the belly scratching--I'm sure going to be on the lookout for it when I pull out my DVDs again LOL

Mike points with his index finger a lot when he talks, especially when he's giving one of his famous 'Mike Brady' lectures.

I hadn't noticed that before but just watched a couple of episodes yesterday and noticed that he DOES do that a lot!

Thanks, old grouch!
