View Full Version : did anybody enjoy the 2 Brady Bunch movies
neutron66 07-05-2012, 12:50 PM back in the mid to late 90's they made two low budget brady bunch movies that was a parody of the show i was amazed at how entertaining and how similar the brady people in the movies looked like the real life brady bunch family in the 1970's sitcom it just goes to show you that the tv shows in the 60's and 70's would never last in the 90's or 2000's world nowadays things have changed since then they would be total outcasts to society lol, did anybody enjoy the 2 Brady Bunch movies ?
Johnny be good! 08-04-2012, 10:03 AM I very much did, being as I own both of them.
sixfingers 08-08-2012, 08:08 AM I liked them, BTW, they did make a third movie in which Mike Brady became president, but it was a made for TV movie.
biffbronson 08-08-2012, 01:06 PM I didn't know that the 2 theatrical releases were considered "low budget" -- sorry, but weren't those big films from a major studio, so I doubt that's accurate...?
catlover79 08-08-2012, 01:54 PM I liked the first one, but I thought the second one was stupid. Just my opinion!!
caladon 08-08-2012, 02:29 PM I went to see them with no expectations and enjoyed both of them. Normally when a classic TV show is brought to the big screen the results are more often than not, very disapointing. However, in the case of the Brady Bunch movies, I think they made the right decision by keeping them locked in 70's mode. Their contrast to the rest of the world was what made the film that much more entertaining. I especially liked how the look changed when the characters went from the "Brady" world to the real world; it was a nice touch.

First 2 movies were BEST the third one was not great. They could have made at least one more in the late 1990s that could have been a lot better than the 3rd movie with the original cast of the first 2.
MurphyCarmichael 09-02-2012, 12:55 AM I guess I'm the only one who didn't care for them. Just my opinion, but I thought they were both kind of stupid and I never even heard of the third one until now.
The Flying Dutchmans 09-18-2012, 08:50 PM I did. I thought they were funny. But the 2nd one was funnier than the 1st IMO
DavidDMI 10-16-2012, 07:53 AM The first one is excellent.I didn't care for the sequel, though.I think the best ideas and jokes were used in the first film.

I totally agree! The first film is hilarious, but it seems like they ran out of good jokes and ideas when they made the second film.
PrettyinPink55 10-17-2012, 12:58 AM I loved them both!!! I haven't seen the third movie though.
comedyfreak 10-17-2012, 08:03 AM I seen both and enjoyed both of them, loved that Florence and Ann had parts in the first one.
Fuffer 10-19-2012, 03:50 PM I liked them both. The characters were pretty accurate IMO.
steevo 10-19-2012, 08:38 PM I liked both of them. It was brilliant and funny how they seemed to live in the 70's when it was actually the 90's (at the time).
I never saw the 3rd one, though.
I really hated the thought of a movie remake of the BB when I had first heard about it, but once I saw the movie, I loved it. Very well done. And the actress who played Marcia...:eyes:
JamesG 01-27-2013, 03:03 AM I just saw The Brady Bunch Movie again recently. I haven't seen it since around the time it first came out, when I was about 10, and I enjoyed it much more now.
Now I was able to pick up on many of the older references and "Brady" episode spoofs. I'd say it's one of the better movies that's based on a tv series.
I forgot many things about it such as Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz having a cameo (I remembered Davy Jones' bit), as well as RuPaul's cameo.
I also saw A Very Brady Sequel around the time it first came out. I don't remember much about the movie at all, except all of the controversy about Marcia and Greg's attraction to each other being hinted at.
I plan on watching it should I come across it.
OH Nuts! 01-27-2013, 11:05 AM I enjoyed both and liked the cameos by the original TV stars.
cleverfun3000 01-27-2013, 12:46 PM Actually, I liked the MOVIES 10 times better than the series!
shotzette 01-27-2013, 01:16 PM I loved the two movies that were released theatrically! They were delightfully silly and showed some geniune love for the show as well as the other Sherwood Schwartz projects.
I know that a few more were released directly to video and may or may not have had all the original cast members. I haven't seen any of these, were they any good?

Yeah, I don't get why the original poster refered to these movies as "low- budget".

Having seen both of the two direct to video offerings, I would have to say that they would only be appreciated if you we're a true die-hard fan of both the series and the movies.
visaman666 01-28-2013, 12:27 AM I thought the 2nd movie was the better one, the references to the series were bang on.
