I have one now (and both tapes.) Was an ebay purchase a few years ago. It's fun to play along with the tapes, but it's even more fun to play along with the actual show from that era.

...that is of course if you mean from circa 1988-1990!
I just wish they had a play along version for this era. That would be phenomenal.

well there's a pretty funny story about that hch, in 2004 their was supposed to be a Wheel of Fortune Live Play game from Tiger Electronics teaming along with VEIL Wireless Technologies that would allow you to play along with the show every night. but unfortunately, the idea was scrapped and the project was cancelled days before it's released.but their is a rumor from the Internet that a single unit was sold at Ebay in 2006.
Here is a picture of a woman playing the unit in action:http://images.wikia.com/wheeloffortunehistory/images/4/4e/LivePlayPromoShot.jpg
Here is a picture of the unit itself (a very small picture to be exact): http://images.wikia.com/wheeloffortunehistory/images/7/77/Z040302_wheeloffortune_hor.jpg
or you can read about it here, just look under the title "Cancelled versions":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_of_Fortune_(video_game)
hope this helps!

I know it's been eight and a half years since the last reply was made in this specific thread, but I thought I'd tell you that I'm the reason why the rumor about the 2006 listing of Wheel of Fortune Live Play exists.
Here's what happened. In December of that year, I was on eBay looking at Wheel of Fortune stuff when I saw a listing for this Live Play game. I remember it being auctioned off. It was completely packaged under the Parker Brothers' label. There was one bid, it was going for about $15 (half of the game's intended MSRP), and unfortunately, I let it slip. I still don't know why I did such. In addition, I do not have the photo from the listing or anything else to verify what I just said.
So while I am very sorry to say that, I am nevertheless very happy to say that thirteen years later, on the evening of December 27, 2019, I saw another listing for Wheel of Fortune Live Play on eBay. The listing was for just the game. There was no packaging and there was no instruction booklet either, but it was a "Buy it Now" for just under $30 including the cost of shipping. This time, I showed absolutely no hesitation in buying it. Three days later, the game arrived safely, ending a fifteen-year-plus-long odyssey for me to get my hands on this dear thing.
As I type this up, I have two gameplay videos of Wheel of Fortune Live Play on YouTube which can be watched via the below links. Please enjoy.

On a sidenote, yes, I also have Mattel's Play Along game from 1988 along with both tapes for it.
