With the passing of Andy Griffith, I was thinking how many lead actors/actress had tv series in their middle years that did well. They had one series/ or movie success before but did well again later on. Let say after age 45 and the series lasted 5+ years

Andy Griffith with Matlock
Dick Van Dyke with Diagnois Murder
Angela Langsbury with Murder She wrote.
Buddy Ebsen, Barnaby Jones,
Raymond Burr with his Perry Mason Tv movies.
Then all the gals of the Golden Girls.

It is nice to think you can get success when you are older.

Buddy Ebsen was already past his middle years when The Beverly Hillbillies started.

I guess it all depends on one's definition of the term middle years.

Considering Buddy lived into his 90's, I guess they were his middle years. lol

Don't forget about the entire cast of Golden girls  I always thought it was very cool too.To see these older actors. That we're actually funnier and better than the new ones.

I had written Buddy with Beverly Hillbillies but was thinking of second series but if you think about he did do a bit of acting in Davey Crockett. Keep the list going! There are quite a actors who did well later on.
