The thing I liked about The Beverly Hillbillies was that they were not politically correct. lol I don't think you were supposed to take them seriously. They were there just to make you laugh. I spent enough time growing up in the south. Some of those people need to laugh. lol

I agree,but at the same time.I have known people like The Beverly Hillbillies.That we're from the south.So,it does hold true,in certain cases.

I think the show made the Hillbillies look ignorant of modern technologies and modern cultural norms, but except for Jethro, they were not actually portrayed as stupid. In fact, they are always shown as being more honest, more hospitable and more decent than most of the Californians they come in contact with.
