The next day, Wednesday, I sat by myself during the church service, writing more pages in my notebook full of thoughts, ideas, poems, lyrics, etc., while throngs of worshippers sang praises and hymns and such feel-good fluff. A lady sat down next to me and expressed her concern over my obsessing with writing.
Was I being rude, disrespectful? I just felt that I had a lot on my mind, this was my release. I had just finished writing a song lyric when she said she wanted to pray for me. The song I had just written was "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who, which best expressed my pain and loneliness. This lady and I got into the topic of Christian music, who I liked, and commented that the latest hit by Fleetwood Mac, "Tell Me Lies", was immoral because "we shouldn't be telling lies, etc." I chuckled at her inability to grasp the meaning of the song, like "whispering sweet nothings" or other happy little romantic talk. I gathered that this lady was a little too high strung. So while I continued my discussion with her, I saw a familiar figure walk down the aisle--Lisa. I excused myself and caught up with her as the congregation was exiting the service. As she strolled down the sidewalk, she glanced at me every so often as I attempted to get into a conversation with her. I was soon joined by Christian musician/actor Wendell Burton and his wife. I personally thought this guy's music blew Tender Chunks, and he didn't seem like the hippest character in the world with his billiard-ball hairdo, but he seemed like a nice guy. So in the parking lot, I got into a four-way
conversation with Lisa, Wendell, and his wife. I told them that i was feeling depressed, but since being here, I felt a lot better. Burton then replied, "don't worry--you'll be depressed again!" We
all laughed and Lisa gave him a playful slap. I told Lisa that I enjoyed last night's taping, and asked her how she liked my poetry. She told me, "it was beautiful." Then it was time to go and so everyone gave each other a hug--and Lisa gave me this SQUEEZABLY SOFT HUG!!!!:loveya:  :eyes: OOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!    I just wanted to relax and savor her WARM, VELVETY CUSHY-NESS, more than anything. My fears had fled for one more moment.
