PEARL AND SANDRA,

I love Pearl in whatever scene she is in because she always has a great line like when Mary and lester was kissing in front of her window and Mary asked...Peral how long have you been in that window? And Pearl said...."since 1943" LOL
Plus she reminds me so much of my grandmom in how she communicates with Calvin.

Sandra is just so damm funny in addition to being a looker and steals almost every scene she is on the show. I still remember being attracted to her at the age of 12.

Far as the rest of the cast, I like everyone else in this order

Brenda.....great actress
Calvin
Mary....Marla Gibbs was a straight character on her own show
Lester
Mailman
Rose.......weakest character on the show

How come you didn't put anything after Calvin, Lester, and the Mailman? And have you been watching this on the centric network like I have been?

It did, but I liked that last season when they added Stoney Jackson along with Dillon. That snobby new landlord I could do without, but they had some good episodes in the final season.

I think it had a lot to do with the show being on saturday night. The fact that it was not a school night, I was probably out doing something with friends.

But the NBC shows I did watch every week on a school night was

Cosby show
A Different World

Don't forget the Gospel Music Channel (GMC) it airs 11pm E/T Weeknights and Amen at Midnight. The only thing with GMC is that they cut up scenes for "family viewing" purposes. Amen is really chopped up.

Really? I don't get GMC, what is it in 227 or Amen that they would cut out?

That's when people stayed home on Saturday nights. Growing up, my Saturdays were watching NWA wrestling on TBS at 605pm-805pm, Then I'd watch the NBC prime-time line up, at 11:30pm Saturday Night Live, and occasionally, WWF Saturday Night night's main event!

Growing up in the mid to late 80s were the joint! lol

Dialogue or scenes that may seem too risque for church/spiritual purposes. As a strong christian, I undertand where they are coming from but it trips me up when I'm expecting a scene and its been cut.

There was an episode of "Amen" from season four where the Rev's ex-fiancee attempts to seduce him in his apartment. The part where she throws her clothes out the window is cut and much of the scene is cut is when she is being suggestive. That episode ends earlier than usual due to severe edits. The closing credits are also rushed.

Arnetia Walker who played the actress also appeared in 227 a few months later. When she is trying to seduce Lester, she gives him a picture of her in a bikini "for his fantasy". That tag was cut.

In the ep where Ernest is a judge, the convict's girlfriend go to the house and holds him up with a gun. That scene is cut. She enters the home and GMC version fades to black with no shot of her pulling out the gun. Rolly and Ernest's reference to caling the convict's girlfriend "butt ugly" is also cut out. The gun really isn't seen until the end of the scene.

Any swear words that are used are muted or the dialogue is just cut. When Sandra was trying to get a part in the movie that was shooting in the neighbor hoood, her "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a d**n", that was removed. It disrupts the flow of the dialogue/scenes that one may be familiar with however, I understand why they do it.

So, there you have it. 227 isn't as bad but Amen's edits/cuts are REALLY messed up.

Part 3 of Mission Impossible

Now TV One did allow me to see it was more to the episode after Tom got his money and get in the car and head back to the airport. On TV Land once they got in the car and headed to the airport that was the end. But on TV One you see George back at the APT adding up the money they spent out in LA

The florence comes in and said one of his vans were towed and he was pissed and Louise was saying something to him while the ep was going off
