Sanford and Son no contest! Those other two themes are plain and corny! Sanford and Son is funky and catchy! Grady and the Sanford Arms sounded like something out the 1930 and 40s.

I think you are caught in the fact that S&S was the better show and not removing yourself from that and just listening to the themes.

Solomon, if I liked Grady and Sanford Arms better than Sanford and Son, I'd still say Sanford and Son had the better theme. Just to let you know, with you posting those themes up there, that's not my first time hearing Grady and Sanford Arms theme songs. I've heard them long enough to know they got corny music and not very catchy. I know my music. lol

I'm not familiar with either one, but the SnS theme, to me, would still be my favorite. I think it is as iconic as the "I Love Lucy", "Bonanza", "The Waltons", etc. themes. And it does always make me smile. And I can always use one of those!

Thanks for posting these, but man!!! No comparison to the SnS theme imo. The "Grady" theme sounded like you let 26 kids in a kindergarten class choose a note apiece and have the teacher draw them out of a box one at a time, to compose a tune. The "Sanford Arms" theme sounded like something you'd hear from the organ at a '70's baseball game at the seventh-inning stretch. To each his own, though.

Solomon, I agree with her. Those songs are cheesy and crappy. This is theme songs period, not shows. Those themes suck ass like crazy! Sanford and Son theme blows those away reguardless. Sanford and Son had the fortune of being a great sitcom with a great and catchy theme. Those other two had the misfortune of being bad shows with bad themes. You may disagree, but that's the way I see and hear it dude.

All the songs have their merit, their catchy beat and tune. But IMO none compare to the iconic, smooth shuffling tune of "The Streetbeater" courtesy of Quincy Jones.

No, TV Fact Fan, I am not focusing on the SnS show. Like Garfield said, I think the themes to the other two shows are crap, plain and simple. I was trying to be nice in my other post, but that's really what I think, too. Just terrible. Granted, they weren't heard over and over like the SnS theme, but I don't really think that has much to do with it. And remember, the SnS theme was written by the great Grammy-winning Quincy Jones. Who knows who wrote the other two. That's great if you like them better, but try not to analyze the thought processes of others simply to justify your point of view. Believe me, I know what I'm thinking! And thanks Garfield for agreeing with me. From the other posts, it seems a lot of us prefer the SnS theme to the others. But like I said, to each his own and if you like the other themes better, that's cool!
