I believe that too, since the show was aired during the VCR era and other shows that wasn't aired during the VCR era I have copies of in my apt like

I'm sure Checking In has been preserved in the vaults. It would just be easy to offer the episodes as bonus features on a future Jeffersons set....ok, when that will be, who knows?

I found out on tvshowsondvd.com that no spinoff can be released until the parent show is complete. So hopes of seeing checking in right now are extremely thin

That's not true at all. Not sure where you "read" that there. Tabitha was released before Bewitched was complete.
