View Full Version : Don't you guys agree that Piers Morgan needs to be FIRED from CNN?
Big3sCompanyFan 06-27-2012, 04:53 AM His ratings are even lower than Larry King's when they fired him!
Some local radio shows actually draw more in the 18- 49 group than Piers does!
It's amazing he already hasn't been fired! It's gotta be just a matter of time!
duckie 06-27-2012, 06:21 AM I didnt know Larry King was fired, i thought he retired.

He was basically forced out. If it was up to Larry he'd still be there!
Dianne3 06-27-2012, 02:54 PM I keep reading that CNN's ratings are low for everything, not just Piers.
On Headline News, they really did a great job with the Daytime Emmy's. NOT!!!
That network now bores me. Everytime I tune in all they talk is politics. I am not American by the way, however I used to enjoy that network more in the past.
robyrob 06-27-2012, 04:16 PM is CNN still on? - how could you tell?

Brad Russ 06-29-2012, 05:27 AM I think Piers Morgan's show is actually one of the few bright spots on an otherwise atrocious channel. If they did cancel him, they'd most likely just replace him for someone with equally bad, or worse ratings for that matter. I think he's a decent interviewer, and always books good guests, so I'm hoping they keep him. If they do fire him though, he'll probably just go to fox news, and get three times the ratings. lol That's oftentimes how it goes when a CNN reporter gets fired.
Retro4Life 06-29-2012, 03:59 PM When CNN premiered in the 80's, I watched it all the time. It was the first live 24/7 news channel and they had exciting, innovative shows like Crossfire, the Capital Gang, CNN Overnight, etc, with great personalities like Patrick Emery, Tom Braden, Pat Buchanan, Larry King and Michael Kinsley.
Now the network bores me to tears. Their ridiculous and lazy overuse of new media (constant blather about people posting on Facebook and Twitter and texting them, YouTube videos, etc.) is just pandering to young people, not trying to fulfill their higher function of informing them about important events. Don Lemon? Bill Cafferty? Piers Morgan? These people are newspeople?
I'm a registered Democrat who slowly began to like Fox News (though I often strongly disagree with some of their commentators) because it was relevant, interesting and created an atmosphere of familiarity that kept me coming back.
I never even browse CNN anymore.

Same with me. I also used to like it when they had their nightly sports shows at 11 pm and also on the weekend. I guess they couldn't compete with ESPN. The only show on CNN I would watch the last few years was Larry King when he had a guest on that I wanted to see.
TVFactFan 06-30-2012, 12:09 AM CNN failed when they said breaking news and reported rodney king died
that was news but not breaking news
lucyandethel 08-09-2012, 02:56 AM For years, people use to say Fox News was just biased, but CNN was THE source for news. Well, fewer and fewer people go to "the source" anymore.
Piers Morgan is just an arrogant jerk, but I get the same vibe from Anderson Cooper and everyone seems to love him, but I got burned out on the 24-hour news channels years ago.

Like Lou Dobbs or Juan Williams. They are doing just fine at FOX.
Brad Russ 08-09-2012, 05:21 AM I enjoy Juan Williams on Fox. My buddy Preston can't stand him because of his liberal views, but I actually kind of like him. I rarely agree with him, but I still like him. He does a good job as a contributor and guest host on many shows.
I have actually never seen Lou Dobbs on Fox, didn't even know he was there, I'll have to check him out sometime.

I also enjoy Juan Williams' take on the issues especially when he contributes on "The Five." He's usually on when Bob Beckells is out. They are both a great contribution to the show. It's always interesting to get the other sides' take on things.
Lou Dobbs was the only reason I used to watch CNN back in the day. He's much better on the FOX Business network.
Lou Dobbs and Neil Cavuto are my favorites.
I like Bill O'Reilly, too.
The only ones I really despise on that network is Sean Hannity and Geraldo Rivera. Mostly Hannity. I just can't stand his personality. Maybe Alan Combs left because he also couldn't stand his personality.

Lou Dobbs is on at 7 pm on the FOX Business network.....
Wait...I see you're in Oregon, so the time may be different for you than it is for me here on the east coast.

Thanks for letting me know, I will check it out. :)

Lou Dobbs is doing great on that network. Neil Cavuto also has a program on there in addition to his "Your World" show on the regular FOX channel.
*ROGER* 08-09-2012, 01:46 PM This thread is about CNN, so why is it not on the politics board?
