Just watched that episode now, and I couldn't help but notice some autistic traits in Bob (Frasier's new "friend" for those who have not seen the episode):

Bob continually talks about subjects that interest him, but not who he is talking to.
Bob has difficulty making friends.
Bob does not appear to understand conveniential social cues.
Bob goes to unorthodox and intrusive methods to acquire information.

Autism was not very high profile at the time this episode was originally broadcast, so the writers may not have had that in mind. Still, the aforementioned traits do remind me of autism.

"Texans think they invented barbecue... [rolls his eyes and nods his head] The arrogant bastards!" has me in stitches every time I catch that episode. But I guess that probably falls more under Turette syndrome.

  I haven't watched this episode in ages, but that's an interesting question about him having autism. I'll have to watch it again. Thanks for posting this topic!
