Stopped airing the "Bewitched"/"I Dream of Jeannie"hour in the morning,and replaced them with (ugh)paid programming? Just cuyrious.

Im still angry at them for taking the Honeymooners off the air a few years ago.

They're no different than most other channels, they just keep adding more and more advertising.And unfortunately without any more regulations in place they are allowed to do it.The amount of paid programming seems to be rising as fast as the amount of commercials.I think the average American TV channel must have about 70 percent or more advertisements nowadays when you count both paid programming and regular commercials.

Money in with no investment. I am seriously acquiring every complete season of shows I like on DVD at a rapid clip. There are only about 5 or 6 shows I like on TV to begin with and they are filled with more and more commercials every day it seems. We are reaching the point where a half-hour sitcom will soon be 15 minutes of show and 15 minutes of commercials, not counting the pop-up ads during the show. I plan to scale back my cable subscription and watch more DVD's.

I've been Cable-Free for 5 1/2 years now. I have all of Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie on DVD along with hundreds of others. The Buffoons who run these Stations can rot in their greed AFAIC, I no longer have any need for them. People are pulling out, realizing the value is no longer there. I was paying $65.00 a Month when I cut the cord, today it would cost me a dollar shy of DOUBLE that each month to receive the same service. :angryfire No thanks, I'd rather spend that money getting my Entertainment from "Somewhere Else". :lol:

I am starting to agree with you - in fact the only reason I hang on to cable is Turner Classic Movies (many of the films they show are not available on DVD at all), and because I'm a huge college football nut and gotta have my ESPN in the Fall. Otherwise, I am more often watching an old tv series or movie on DVD.

I quit cable 5 years ago also. I had gotten so sick of turning past channel after channel of absolute crap and only watching 3 or 4 channels SOMETIMES. Then my cable company kept removing each of my favorite channels one by one trying to force me to buy their HD package. Paying $70 a month then for nothing and realizing the only show I watched was Judge Judy and I could get that for free on regular antenna tv, I quit and have not looked back since. I no longer waste hours watching endless liberal view edited news programs designed to brain wash, an endless stream of "reality" crap shows one worse than the other, and commercials that seemed to play 45 out of 60 minutes. Now I live in peace and happiness with my DVDs of old TV shows, they never offend, they don't waste my time, they are commercial free and they are on whenever I'm ready for them to be on. What a dream come true. ;)

i reocommed netflix its just 8 bucksa month you can download lots of tv shows or moives igot me a dvr so i fast forwad the comericales. i relcenty gotten digitle cable its great i been watching the hub a lot they show classc shows. i reocmmd checking out metv its new you dont need digitle cable for me tv. i reocmmd they show really older classsc like parry mason riffle man or i love lucy.

We can't even get locals like ABC, CBS etc with an antenna for local news, the joy of rural living. We do pay for a dish for locals and my husband loves his Texas sports. We also watch TCM, GMC, INSP, The Hub and Hallmark. Honestly if we could get anything with an antenna I'd get rid of the dish and never look back.

There are only 2 cable channels I'd like to have, Encore Westerns & TCM. If I could get a cable company to sell me just those 2 channels a month I'd be happy.

That's just one of several reasons many of us are up in arms and have cut the cord: the cable companies' refusal to offer THE CUSTOMER to pick their channels (known as "a la carte") instead of only offering certain packages and whole tiers of channels. There is maybe 8-10 cable channels I want, the other 500 can go pound sand.

I think Bewitched and Jeannie's contract may have expired along with Cheers. They were all removed at the same time.
