View Full Version : All That and Kenan & Kel to air on Nick at Nite
retrofan05 06-22-2012, 09:20 PM “All That” and “Kenan & Kel” Airing on Nickelodeon/Nick@Nite Next Week
Friday, June 22, 2012 | Posted by Bryan
As we tweeted about earlier today, Nickelodeon/Nick@Nite will be airing All That and Kenan & Kel next Monday-Thursday at 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, respectfully.
There’s no information available about what sparked this change, nor whether either will be billed as any “special programming” or block-themed. It is assumed both will air during Nick@Nite, which normally airs during the 8p.m. hour on Sunday-Thursday nights. There is also no word whether this change will continue past next week either. So, stay tuned and cross your fingers that they don’t make a sudden change and replace these shows!
Both ‘90s Nickelodeon classics will continue to air on TeenNick’s The ‘90s Are All That block, every night at midnight ET.
Kenan & Kel last aired on Nickelodeon as a one-night only airing on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 9:30 p.m. (the episode “Three Girls, A Guy, and a Cineplex”). Before that, the series was last regularly seen on the network in 2003.
All That was last seen on Nick on Saturday, June 3, 2006 where it was airing once weekly with repeats from the show’s last season.
With the addition of these two Nick classics, The Brady Bunch is being removed from Nick@Nite’s line-up. The ‘70s sitcom had been airing in the 5 a.m. hour since May 21.

*Pleasant Tomorrow* 06-22-2012, 10:29 PM haha yay for 90's kids like me but ugh Nick is so desperate to bring back the success they had in the 90's. So sad.
retrofan05 06-22-2012, 10:50 PM I would really like to see Nick at Nite totally revamped as "The 90's Are All That," because frankly, the current Nick at Nite format has become incredibly boring and is basically no different than TV Land. Airing a block geared at 20 somethings on "Teen" Nick, just doesn't make sense.
ryan423 06-22-2012, 11:26 PM None of Nick's '90s programming has enough episodes. That's why programming it regularly, especially with back-to-back airings becomes monotonous. I rather enjoy having FRIENDS on Nick at Nite. I've been watching it more on there now than I have in at least a couple of years. Sad they removed That '70s show. Wish they'd still Raymond and King of Queens from TV Land so I'd have them in HD at night given that TV Land isn't in HD on the east coast, at least for TWC customers.

DSfan 06-23-2012, 01:53 AM Well this was unexpected!
I hope they keep this going. It would be good to get as much exposure to these shows for the kids today who don't know what they missed when Nick was at its best. But really, what's going on over at Nick@Nite right now, they are again resorting to the constant changing of the lineup and shuffling of timeslots that made us all so crazy these last few years. They had been getting better at sticking with a schedule but now the past few months seems like every 2 weeks is a new alteration.

I'm not saying that they should necessarily air 90's Nick programming from 8PM to 6 AM. Actually, I would rather see regular Nickelodeon extended to 10 PM or even 11 and then switch over to 90's Nick after that, maybe up until 4 AM. If it became too difficult to program, they could even limit it to just weekends. Extending Nick's daytime programming to 10 or even 11 PM, would help them compete more successfully with Disney's primetime line-up.
Ihavealife2uknow 06-23-2012, 10:53 AM Personally I have had enough of both shows from the 90's Are All That block. I probably won't watch the reruns unless there is absolutely nothing else on. I like that they brought back the Brady Bunch though :) That and the George Lopez show are the only two shows I currently watch on the Nick At Nite lineup.
Jericho-79 06-23-2012, 01:14 PM That's great news. All That defined Nickelodeon back in the 90's.
I don't like how the current Nick at Nite only shows reruns of Friends, George Lopez, and That 70's Show. What do those syndicated relics have to do with Nickelodeon?
The ideal Nick at Nite live-action lineup would consist of Hey Dude, Pete & Pete, Clarissa Explains It All, Welcome Freshmen, and Alex Mack from the 90's.

The Brady Bunch has been removed from the lineup, at least for the week.

Starting Monday it's gone: With the addition of these two Nick classics, The Brady Bunch is being removed from Nick@Nite’s line-up.
Adem422 06-23-2012, 06:22 PM It still show the brady bunch this weekend and monday and the rest of the week lol
Buffyboy323 06-23-2012, 08:53 PM I wonder if Nick at Nite's plunge into airing a nightly soap opera is helping their ratings, or turning even more of their viewers away. I can't really see it doing too well. "Hollywood Heights" definitely feels like a TeenNick show.

So far Hollywood Heights has been a BIG bomb. It has yet to pass the 600,000 viewers - not good.
Adem422 06-24-2012, 04:37 AM No offence to HollyWood Hieights and to anyone that likes it, But its boring and not a good fit with nick at nite it should go on teennick. Maybe they are trying to do like abc family and have drama's in prime time

I have no idea why Nick@Nite would even want a drama on their schedule. From what I remember, its always been comedies.
On the bright side, they do have that one original comedy coming later this year.

It hasn't passed 600,000 viewers? The show airs five nights a week, I wonder if Nick at Nite is going to cancel it in the coming weeks. The best thing would be to pair it with Degrassi: The Next Generation on TeenNick every night. The only hour-long show I can *maybe* see on Nick at Nite is Gilmore Girls, because most of the time it was a unique family-friendly comedy/dramedy. It was a massive hit on ABC Family for years. A nightly Soap Opera airing new episodes 4-5 nights a week will never work on Nick at Nite.

For a network that is used to bringing in millions of viewers per show, I can't believe that they haven't pulled Hollywood Heights yet. Are sitcoms like George Lopez and Friends not doing well anymore? If they are still bringing in high ratings, I don't why they wouldn't immediately replace Hollywood Heights with one of those shows.
Adem422 06-25-2012, 06:04 AM Yea they should replace them, But nick at nite needs to bring some more shows. I know viacom as the the rights to boy meets world since it airs on mtv and it would work well on nick at nite its comedy and it has some episdoes form the 2000s mostly 90s lol but tis comedy so it would fit and it has alittle drama sometimes so they can air that if they want drama lol
Buffyboy323 06-25-2012, 02:22 PM If Friends wasn't still on locals and TBS, I'm sure it would be Nick at Nite's flagship series, and they would overplay it into infinity as they've done with so many others. Nick at Nite is very 'off' right now.
yankeesrj12 06-26-2012, 08:37 PM Hollywood Heights actually does better at 12am then it does at 8pm. Anyways, the most recent episode did do over 700k viewers, so it is (slowly) increasing.
Mario500 06-26-2012, 09:30 PM Since I don't have access to TeenNick programming from home, the episodes of "All That" and "Kenan & Kel" broadcast by Nickelodeon today were the first episodes I've seen of them in years (The "Kenan & Kel" episode "Three Girls, a Guy, and a Cineplex" was the last episode I saw from the series when it broadcast by Nickelodeon in 2007). I noticed the musical segment for "All That" and the final segment for "Kenan & Kel" were edited, resulting in longer commercial breaks. I guess it is best to wait until these programs are available intact on DVDs.

If they wanted to air them with the musical segments, it would have cost Nick a fortune. I wouldn't expect them on a DVD either.

Didn't they air the musical segments when All That first started airing on The N (TeenNick)? Maybe I just imagined it. I also find it funny that in the show description they list who the musical guest is but then don't air it. LOL
yankeesrj12 06-27-2012, 03:43 PM I know this thread isn't about Hollywood Heights, but this is a big guest star for the dud soap: James Franco. Yes, you read that right, James Franco will be guest starring on Hollywood Heights this Friday.

I heard he'll have a story arc that will last a few episodes.
The worst thing Nick at Nite does is air Friends out of order. I check the guide here and there, and the episodes seem to be all scrambled, so I don't bother watching. Tonight they will air episodes from 2001, tomorrow, episodes from 2001, 2003, 2004. Do they air all of their shows like this now? A huge part of what made Nick at Nite so great back in the day was that they would air their shows in order. Sure, they would skip an episode here and there, but the cycle wasn't completely destroyed.

And they air the same episodes all the time! I can't tell you how many times I've seen the episode where Ross accidentally films him and Rachel having sex! Still though, it is hilarious.
comedyfreak 06-28-2012, 04:25 AM I seen All That and couldn't believe how young Amanda was before Drake and Josh joined the cast.
Adem422 06-28-2012, 04:38 AM Drake & Josh never joined All That they joined Amanda on
The Amanda Show. Lol!

This is a show with almost 250 episodes, that should be shown in order. They reference past episodes here and there, and it can be quite "soapy" at times with continuing story arcs and character development. I can't believe Nick at Nite doesn't air Friends in order.
