 My dvd player refuses to let me record the show. I am not sure if this show will have a dvd release at the end of the season so I wanted to record the show so I can add it to my collection of tv shows. Is it possible that companies know that there are pirates out there looking to make a quick buck on recording tv shows that they block people from recording shows even for personal use? I know that a lot of networks are keeping people from recording their programming. I know that TNT won't let people record the new Dallas.

I know that if you have a HD cable box you are only able to record from regular channels.

I'm glad I don't have a DVD Recorder. Sounds like it's a headache to use. lol I never had trouble recording anything on a VCR. Now that most shows get a DVD release, it isn't as important to me. lol

That's why I;m debating should I take this HD box back to Comcast tomorrow so I can save $10 a month and record for free again.lol

most of the TVLand originals are copy-protected, unless you can catch a rerun that isn't, your best bet is to wait 2 weeks and try to record it off the On-Demand channel.

I actually found an old dvd recorder that does not recognise the new copyright rules that are in effect so now I can record the show with ease.
