Dail Dinwiddie (http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/dinwiddie_dail.html)
If you grew up in South Carolina in the late 80's/early 90's, this was probably the first big missing persons case you grew up with. She's one of those who just walked off into the night and disappeared. Everyone's parents used her as a warning. "Don't go by yourself, stay with someone you trust at all times, or you'll end up like that poor Dail Dinwiddie." (She was the "missing persons object lesson," Pee-Wee Gaskins was the "bogeyman serial killer that will get you")
It's always bothered me that they've never even found what happened to her.
