I'm watching the episode "The Affair" and I noticed that Mrs. Garrett and one of the girls were making references to Walter Cronkite. Why was he being mentioned in this episode? I mean by this time Dan rather was the CBS news man. I know other sitcoms made reference to Cronkite in the 70's because he was still the anchor on CBS News.

This ep was taped in 1982 and Cronkite left CBS in 1981:confused:

You have to remember it was Mrs. G who brought it up. Her generation grew up with Walter Cronkite.
