Does anyone else remember back in the late 70's and very early 80's, in the days when WGN out of Chicago and Atllanta's WTBS were the only two nationwide cable stations? WGN aired the Dick Van Dyke show at 2:30 (Eastern) every afternoon except when pre-empted by a Cubs game. I was a teenager, but foudn the show one afternoon during summer vacation and fell in love with it. During the summer, it was pre-empted by baseball quite often, and during the school year I couold only catch it on Wednesday's, because my school district sent kids at 2:00 so the teachers could have staff meetings. Needless to say, I didn't see as many episodes as I would have liked back then.

I remember back when WGN did show TDVDS, they also showed My Three Sons right after. It was the first time I saw both shows.

Growing up in Chicago in the 70's, WGN alternated between TDVDS and the Odd Couple at 6:30 PM. The Andy Griffith Show was on at 6:00.
