Happy Birthday to him!
He's starting to look more English as he gets older. I have no idea what I mean by that, other than for some reason he looks more now like the Englishman that he is than he did when he was on Frasier. Or maybe he looks less like all-American Martin Crane? I dunno, but I can tell he's English in that picture. :)

Coming a bit late, but Happy Birthday Mr. Mahoney!

And I'll have to agree with the general consensus, I thought he was significantly older than both in the picture in this thread and on Frasier. Indeed, I was surprised when I looked him up on Wikipedia and found out he was only 53 when Frasier started!

Ha ha, I kinda know what you mean! Who knows... Daphne could have rubbed off on Martin a little! It was bound to happen! She is his "daughter" after all! ;)

Well, he is English. I like the fact that he "helped" Jane with her Mancunian accent too. :)

I remember reading that, that he helped her with her accent. And made her feel really comfortable and at home on the set, too.
I bet they had a nice relationship, he and Jane. I also read that he was there for her when her personal relationship hit the skids and when she was ready to give up on ever getting married or having a family he was the one who consoled her and told her to just give it a little more time. And of course shortly after that she met her husband Marshall. Every girl needs a guy like that, and usually it's her father, but I assume her family is still in England so it must have been nice to have him around and supporting her like that. Of course, I think Jane is one of those really nice people who other people love to be with too, because it seems like she formed very close and lasting bonds with everyone on that show and other shows she's been on too. It seems like everybody she's worked with is a permanent part of her life in some way, from best friends to godparents of her children to business partners to lifelong friends. So it's probably her too, but you gotta love John Mahoney for taking care of her like that. :)
