Zoneboy 06-19-2012, 08:07 AM okay then Zoneboy, do you remember an episode of 227 when they were on the late Ray Combs edition of Family Feud in 1988? Jude The Obscure 06-19-2012, 07:32 PM I remember the Angie episode of Family Feud, but it's been so long since I've seen it. jehobden 06-19-2012, 08:09 PM okay then Zoneboy, do you remember an episode of 227 when they were on the late Ray Combs edition of Family Feud in 1988? I remember a different 227 episode where Mary was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. The show writers broke the game's rules to make things go badly for Mary. The puzzle spelled something like "SANTA F_ TRAI_". Mary made the obvious guess that it was "Santa Fe Trail", but then Pat said "No, Sorry, it was 'Santa Fe Train'". First of all, shouldn't Mary have lost her turn, giving the next contestant a chance to guess, instead of Pat's revealing the answer. Second and worst of all, if the puzzle had been "Santa Fe Train", then the "n" in "Train" should've been revealed when the "n" in "Santa" was revealed! KurtfromPitts 06-20-2012, 11:31 AM The Odd Couple Password ep and the That Girl Mating Game one. AKA 06-20-2012, 08:03 PM Wow. No no one's mentioned the the "What Is... Cliff Clavin?" episode of Cheers yet? To me, that's the example of a game show-themed sitcom episode. botdmsQilnU AB 06-20-2012, 09:40 PM Also there was a funny episode on The Nanny where Fran went on Jeopardy. I think the episode was called Franny & the Professor. duckie 06-21-2012, 12:46 AM Sanford and Son was on the Gong Show, I believe. Or was it Whats Happening!!? Or both? let'swatchtv 06-21-2012, 10:09 AM what about the 30 Rock episode where Tracy Jordan (played by Tracy Morgan) was on Cash Cab also when Ben Bailey made a guest apperance on the show as well. howilu 06-21-2012, 12:33 PM Also there was a funny episode on The Nanny where Fran went on Jeopardy. I think the episode was called Franny & the Professor. There was also an episode where Maxwell was a guest on Hollywood Squares with Whoopi Goldberg in the center square. let'swatchtv 06-22-2012, 05:00 AM what about an episode of Family Matters where where Steve and Carl go on American Gladiators. megamanj2004 06-27-2012, 12:10 AM They also had a Jeopardy! episode on The Golden Girls where Dorothy dreamed that she was on Jeopardy! when she was going for a contestant tryouts. Sophia told her something like "No one likes a 'Smart-Aleck!" And then when she was on the show she was competing against Rose and Charlie. let'swatchtv 06-27-2012, 04:36 PM well what about some game show references from The Simpsons or Family Guy? megamanj2004 06-30-2012, 03:03 PM well what about some game show references from The Simpsons or Family Guy? The Simpsons had Hollywood Squares called The Springfield Squares or something like that and they did that TWICE. The 1st time was they had the theme song sounding similar to John Davidson's HS. The 2nd time was when Homer Simpson was celebrating his perfect 300th Game of Bowling and getting into a squabble with Ron Howard. As for Family Guy, the entire or most of the Griffin family was on Family Feud. And Peter was on WoF and TPiR. let'swatchtv 06-30-2012, 07:49 PM The Simpsons had Hollywood Squares called The Springfield Squares or something like that and they did that TWICE. And Peter was on WoF and TPiR. well what about a few episodes of The Cleveland Show where on a few episodes they parodied Love Connection and Double Dare a.k.a Dare Squared? also i think that they have the real voices of Chuck Woolery & Marc Summers respectively doing their own voices for their characters megamanj2004 07-01-2012, 07:19 PM okay then Zoneboy, do you remember an episode of 227 when they were on the late Ray Combs edition of Family Feud in 1988? I remember the Ray Combs episode of The Feud on 227. That was one of the funnier episodes of 227, IMO! Ray: "What happened to Grumpy, Dopey, Sleepy and Lazy?" Mary: "Oh they're on the other team!" Also, they had a 199-point FM loss when Lester couldn't choose between a reuqest from a home-cooked meal or a home-cooked, er Cigarette. And Sandra said every answer in Fast Money involving 5 different types of men and got 5 Perfect Zeroes! Also, 227 had an episode where Sandra went on Love Connection, too. megamanj2004 07-01-2012, 07:22 PM Gimme a Break also had the infamous "Give Me Liberty or Give Me A Car!" episode when Addie and Nell ended up on Wheel of Fortune and Addy won a Trip to NYC, which was a foreshadowing of the final season being in NYC. let'swatchtv 07-02-2012, 03:20 AM I remember the Ray Combs episode of The Feud on 227. That was one of the funnier episodes of 227, IMO! Ray: "What happened to Grumpy, Dopey, Sleepy and Lazy?" Mary: "Oh they're on the other team!" I forgot how the entire episode went but I recalled that b/c of the way both Joey and Ross played the game so badly in screwing over their civilian partners that they had to play the WC with each other. megamanj2004 07-15-2012, 03:17 PM Happy Days - There was a S2 episode where Richie goes on a big money quiz show and did well but then at the middle of the episode, the show's host handed him an envelops with all the answers in it, in lieu of the controversial 1950s Quiz Show Scandals. But unlike the actual 1950s Quiz Show Scandals, Richie took the money and ran after he found out the show was rigging their contestants by feeding them the answers. Sledge Hammer! - In the S1 episode "To Live and Die on TV," HS host Peter Marshall played the role of Bob Kenny who was a crooked host who was involved in embezzeling contestants' cash and prizes and Sledge goes undercover as a contestant on a game show to prove to everyone that Bob Kenny was indeed corrupted. let'swatchtv 07-15-2012, 06:50 PM And Peter was on WoF and TPiR. in the episode I Take Thee Quagmire Peter was playing the bonus round but instead of the usual three consonants and a vowel this segments bonus round goes old school when Peter had to guess 5 cosonanats and a vowel here's how the segement went Host: All right Peter, you made it to the bonus round. congratualtions Peter:Thanks, Regis. Host:ok the catergory is Actor & Show.So we need 5 consonanats and a vowel. Peter:ok ummm... Z... 4... Q... another Q... a thrid Q... and a Batman symbol. Host:Ok, no help there. Um, 15 seconds. if you want to take a shot at it, talk it out. Peter: Is it Alex Karras In Webster? Host:I... don't... believe it. Peter:Oh my god! I just took a shot in the dark! Holy Crap! (sorry i had to put the word "Host" their i just couldn't tell in the episode if the host was Pat Sajak or Chuck Woolery because he never metioned his name) and out of all game show references TPIR was refereneced the most on Family Guy with the Barker version 4 times (i think) and the Carey version once. let'swatchtv 07-15-2012, 07:35 PM And Peter was on WoF and TPiR. in the episode I Take Thee Quagmire Peter was playing the bonus round but instead of the usual three consonants and a vowel this segments bonus round goes old school when Peter had to guess 5 cosonanats and a vowel here's how the segement went Host: All right Peter, you made it to the bonus round. congratualtions Peter:Thanks, Regis. Carey:Everybody, welcome back to The Price Is Right.Time to spin the wheel.Top winner of the day is Peter, so your gonna be the first to spin it. Peter, close to a dollar without going over. (Peter drinks a can of Red Bull and gives the wheel such a strong spin that it spins very fast) Carey:Alright, while we're waiting for the wheel to spin, wanna say "hi" to anybody? Peter:Ohyeahdrewiwannasayhitoloisbrianchrisstewiemegjoebonniequagmireclevelandmortseamusadamwestdoctorhartmanbrucecarterbabstomtuckerangelaopiecarlherbertjillianconsuelagiantchickengreasedupdeafguy!!! Carey:Ha, ok. Sure they're happy to hear that!!! (The Wheel spins so fast that it spins off the set and into the audience crushing a few audience members in the process) Peter:Woah! Paramedics Come on Down! Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe! also what about the Jeopardy! reference on Family Guy like the one where in the same episode "i take thee quagmire" Mayor Adam West was a contestant on Jeopardy! with this dialogue. Trebek:Alright players, the answer once again is "It was the first space craft to land on the surface in Mars." Adam what was your response? Kebert Xela.(pause) AHHHHH!!! West:Only saying his name backwards can send him back to the fifth dimension where he belongs. also to be off the "Family Guy" route what about in the episode Bart Gets Famous from The Simpsons where Bart imagines that he was appearing on Match Game 2034 along with the heads of Billy Crystal, Farrah Fawcett (Majors),Loni Anderson,Spike Lee, & Kitty Carlisle (Hart) in jars. steiven 07-19-2012, 01:31 PM Hello Guys.
