I still have not purchased the Complete Series DVD!!!
So utterly shocking, I know:lol:

 As great as the complete series set is, it's pretty expensive. The only reason I have it is I traded in a bunch of old cds at amazon and ended up spending about $25 on it. Otherwise, it would have taken forever to save up $100 and buy it.

OH Nuts!

Maybe you can borrow it from the library. Worth a shot.

Hey, I do that with most of the DVDs I watch. ;)

That is the main reason what is holding me back. It is very difficult for I to spent that kind of money. Also I already have the entire series, but on VHS; but I would still LOVE to buy the DVD.

I mean, come on, I need to buy this DVD, so Ron Glass, can sleep at night

That's true. Plus you get the first season of Fish as a bonus! ;)

Forgive me for saying this, Barney Miller Fans! But I could not handle watching an entire season of Fish. Florence Stanley (who plays Bernice Fish) voice, literally, hurts my ears. I have very sensitive hearing. Listening to (Bernice) speak is similar to having someone with "very long nails" scratching down a chalkboard.

I don't blame you, Fish is the only person on the show I like. The kids are annoying, the guy that sounds and looks like Donatello form the Teenage Mutant Tutles (1990) is a pain in the but, and Bernice does not work as a main character she's only funny as someone for Fish to play off of. Even then Fish was the funny one, she was just there so he's not talking to himself. But I do enjoy Barny Miller, it has to be in my top 10 favorite shows.

I agree, the kids were annoying! I am sorry, but I do not find the humor in a bunch of brats; but like you, I love Fish:)

Anyway, I had a dream, last night, that I had FINALLY purchased the DVD. The only problem, the seasons were not in order, and I could not find Season 4 and 5:crazy:
It's a sign Tara. You better go out and get it.

It's worth every penny and the extras and commentary are fantastic.

I'm also still saving my pennies for the complete series.

Although I love his charactr, having the first season of Fish isn't much of an incentive.

However the extras sound like fun.. And I'd love to watch season four again -- which I think was the last one for Jack Soo, my very favorite.

I believe he last appeared in Season 5 - the fall of 1978.

Have you tried the used places yet?

2 good ways to find the lowest price.

1. http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/

Here you can enter the title and search for current best prices (within the stores they use):

DVD Planet, DeepDiscount.com, Buy.com, Walmart.com, Best Buy,
Amazon, CD Universe, DVD Empire, Barnes & Noble.

2. Price tracking with Blu-Ray.com - http://www.blu-ray.com/

Regardless of Blu-ray, they also have price tracking for DVD (though not as many). Sign-up, and put a price track on the DVDs/Blu-Rays you want.
Pick the amount you are willing to pay and when it hits that price your account will acknowledge it.

You can get an email notice if you like, and when you sign in there will be list at the top of the discs that have met your target price.
*Note - this is only with Amazon items.

Thank you for the information. I will, definitely, look into this:)

Cool. This is how I found Barney Miller for $63.99.
(Blu-ray.com)

When I was ready to purchase I came here and used the SO link to Amazon so TJ would get the credit.

I have the box set, but I can't believe they haven't made available seasons 4-8 seperately, after releasing the complete series. That's what they did with Leave It To Beaver, by releasing seasons 3-6 seperately.

OH Nuts!

Another thought - maybe you can type /burn eps from a channel - if you can get Antenna TV it's on there.

I am going to wait till I find a reasonable price for the DVD, like under 90 Bucks; so far, everywhere I looked: eBay, online stores, etc. They are all asking in the $ 110 range, and even though, I LOVE BARNEY MILLER, that is a little too steep for me.
I'm shocked Tara.

Hey happy 10 year anniversary for being at Sitcoms Online. I know it happened this week. I hope you have been doing well my friend. :)

Maybe they will one of these days. I know that Charlie's Angels was put in a complete series set before Season 5 got a separate release.

Yes, happy belated SO anniversary, Tara!!! :D
