I never thought of these 2 episodes as being alike, but I suppose they were similar in that they both involved unwanted house guests and then how to get rid of them. But in one case it was a family member in the other another hoidy toidy couple, but unrelated. Both cases could have been solved the way so many sitcom plots could have been resolved, had the main characters just simply said NO when being asked to do something they didn't want to do. How many times have you seen sitcoms whose whole story's problem could have been solved if the main characters had only had the gumption to say no. Dick Van Dyke Show, That Girl, My 3 Sons, well, practically every one has had an episode where NO would have solved everything. I don't like it when the main characters act like doormats.

How about "Hazel Makes A Will" and "A Lesson In Diplomacy"? In both shows Hazel is campaigning to get a raise.

Also the 2 shows where Hazel wanted a car. In both cases, my pet peeve with Hazel is involved, Hazel is again broke and can't affort to buy anything over $100. Even though she makes a good salary (higher paid maid than her peers, so it was said in an episode) she has no expenses, no bills, no food to buy, no heat, gas, electric bills. She can virtually bank every penny she makes. She should have been richer than Mr. B. Yet anytime Hazel had to buy something, she was supposed to be broke.
