The rights to acquire all that you dream of would cost more than Mr. Brewster paid Jed for his oil. A 50th anniversary set would be nice with commentary from Max and Donna. I'd like to see Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne do the interviews since he was in the first episode. We also don't need the 1981 reunion movie to ruin the set.

I would be happy most of all just to see CBS acknowledge this anniversary with a prime time tv special. The Beverly Hillbillies was the network's greatest success and flagship show for the 1960's but they've curiously treated it like poor relations on occasion as if they were ashamed of the "rural" years of the network. They did air the "Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies" special in 1993 that placed in the Nielsen top five for the week and yet for that 2001 (?) CBS anniversary special didn't even bother to invite Donna Douglas and Max Baer or show Hillbillies clips when they had cast members and clips of many shows far less important to the network such as Gilligan's Island.

A monster set like you suggest unfortunately would never happen but I'd love to see a special dvd set of various Beverly Hillbillies-related shows/clips consisting of things like the bonus features you suggest sort of like THE MUNSTERS: AMERICA'S FIRST FAMILY OF FRIGHT set that Image Entertainment released. Oh and frankly, I'd like Linda Kaye Henning's contributions to be kept to a minimum. She frankly irritated me with her intros on the earlier BH set. I know her father created and produced the show but hosting honors for a BH set should belong to Donna Douglas and/or Max Baer and I was rather offended by Linda's barely mentioning Donna to say nothing of the failure to interview Donna at all for the set.

If it was handed over to Shout! Factory, I could see them puting out a complete series set, with maybe 1/4 of those extras. Or just release seasons 4-9, individually.

This is a little off topic, but I think it is an absolute shame that the Beverly Hillbillies dvd releases have been basically abandoned. Fifty years later, I believe the show is very popular, and the humor is timeless. I just wish that if Paramount has no desire in future releases, they would turn the reins over to someone who would.

It's a nice idea but it would be out of most people's price range, myself included. Though you never know, they might come out with a limited collectors edition with many of those extras you mentioned.

I would be over the moon to just see an official release of all 9 seasons. I have seasons 2 and 3 (official). There are so many compilation dvd's around but seems to me that buying those you are gonna end up with some of the same episodes over and over again. Personally I'm not bothered about all the special features that can be added, I just want to enjoy the comedy of such a great, funny and much loved family

So, do you have MPI Home Video releases The Beverly Hillbillies Ultimate Collection Volumes 1 & 2?

These also are OFFICIAL RELEASES, and were authorized by the estate of Paul Henning.

Volume One starts with the pilot, The Hillbillies of Beverly Hills, and ends with episode 27, from season 1. (missing ep. 13: Home For Christmas) Volume Two picks up with episode 28 thru 36 from season 1, and episodes 1-19 from season 2 (missing ep. 14: Christmas At The Clampetts).

MPI's Ulitimate Christmas Collection: The Beverly Hillbillies & Petticoat Junction includes ep. 13 from season 1, and ep. 14 from season 2.

The only drawback is that CBS' The Beverly Hillbillies Official Second Season also has episodes 1-19 since there part of season 2.

No I don't have those... I do have a 10 volume set by Elstree Hill Entertainment which opens with "The Clampetts Strike Oil" and closes with "The Race for Queen" 40 episodes in total. Out of those 40 episodes on this 10 volume set there are 10 episodes that are on the official second season release, those episodes being "Hair Raising Holiday", "Granny's Garden", "The Clampett Look", "Jethro's First Love", "Chickadee Returns", "The Clampetts Are Overdrawn", "Turkey Day", "The Garden Party", "The Girl From Home and lastly "The Race for Queen.
