It was strange because the character had been gone for nearly 2 years and I don't believe he was ever mentioned before that after Gregory Sierra had left the show. What was funny about it is it took about 2 years to get a replacement for him. Only on Barney Miller. :lol: I thought it was nice that the writers remembered him even if it was briefly. You don't get that on too many sitcoms when someone leaves a show.

He was also mentioned briefly in Season 3 (when Yemana has mentioned that Fish, Chano, and Wojo have all dressed in drag for park detail), in Season 4 (whenever Liccori showed up, as she was supposed to be his replacement), and in the series finale, he is seen in flashback along with Fish, Yemana and Wentworth.
