It seems Dish is going to drop AMC,and it's sister channels IFC and We-TV. This does not seem like a normal retransmision dispute or whatever you call it.It seems they are going to REALLY drop those stations.I'm not a fan of Pay-TV companies and certainly not a fan of those commercial filled channels, their mostly bargain basement programming etc. which in my opinion has made them un-watchable. I know there are still a few fans of these stations,so no offense. --I say those channels should be dropped. It may (or may not) send some kind of message to all stations like them that have sold out--that they have no business even being on the air. What do you think?

IFC actually doesn't air any commercials during the show, just between shows.

I never watched much of IFC,but they do show commercials during their programs. They used to just show them between the shows.---It's not only the commercials though that are the problem. It's the fact that channels that have sold out, should just be dropped. They really should not be on the air.And of course it's not only those 3 channels I'm referring too.If some of these channels were taken off the air, maybe others would have to shape up or ship out.Granted that is probably not going to happen, but still.....

Purists like me used to like AMC back in the days when Bob Dorian hosted commercial-free features. The mediocre selection of films, presented with commercials and (to me) distracting factoids during the presentation destroyed the credibility of the station to me. The only saving grace for AMC is Mad Men, which I can stream or watch the DVDs rather than suffer through interminable commercials on the broadcasts. Because of streaming devices, like the Sony which I enjoy, and DVDs, you can keep cable and satellite TV. I can watch what I want when I want. For the few TV broadcasts I still watch, (news and Jeopardy) I watch over-the-air broadcasts.

I became a fan of classic movies because of AMC. Bob Dorian was the best. I remember staying up all night and taping their preservation Festival. Alas those days are long gone. The channel as far as movies are concerned is nothing but junk. I do like some of their tv shows. Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead are pretty good and it's nice to see a western like Hell on Wheels on tv again. It doesn't make up for the total sell out job that AMC did though. That was disgusting.

I agree,AMC before they sold out used to be a great station. When they showed comercial free classic movies, they were almost as good or even just as good as TCM.And yeah Bob Dorian was a fantastic host. They really had a good thing going before they ruined the station. Anyhow it does seem like Dish has successfully dropped them, and their sister stations.
