1. Complaint
On March 26, 2013, Daniels sued Loop, its owner Darrell Williams, and MTO alleging causes of action for defamation, false light, and appropriation of likeness.

In his complaint, Daniels challenges only the following statement in a Loop article dated June 4, 2012, describing Daniels: "Dee Jay Daniels (https://www.instagram.com/boitruth420/?utm_source=ig_embed) aka 'Michael Hughley' grew up to be a gang member, murderer."
